The last two provincial elections showed that when St. Paul's defects from the Liberals, it goes NDP not Conservative.  A weak NDP candidate should keep the riding in Liberal hands.

Why does it seem to me like every racialized woman candidate is referred to on this forum as a 'weak candidate'?

This is the NDP candidate:

Amrit Parhar is the Director of Programs at the Institute for Change Leaders (ICL). She believes that collective action can create social change and build stronger communities, primarily through storytelling.

Amrit was previously the Education & Training Manager responsible for the day-to-day management of educational training at ICL. She got involved with ICL as a placement student while pursuing her Masters at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). She completed her Masters while working at ICL, focusing on issues related to the refugee and immigration system, early childhood education, anti-racism, gender-based violence and more.

She is also a facilitator and has completed certification for the Train the Trainer program through the Leading Change Network. Amrit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and a Master’s degree in Immigration and Settlement Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University.

She was a traitor and her foolishness was weaponized by Donald Trump.

But I don’t like that her gravesite was vandalized. That’s also despicable but not equally so. She should still be allowed to rest in peace.

The dead have no part in our conflicts anymore. We should have the decency to respect their memory (and that includes her mother who is trying to make a big deal out of this). Many responses to this thread are disappointing, but unsurprising.

Perhaps you missed that her mother is actively weaponizing her memory for current political ends as do many MAGA grifters and leaders. You don’t get to do that and then be surprised Pikachu when people discuss the deceased.

As I said, her mother shouldn't have done that. Likewise, none of us should join this mother in the mud.

People are being mean to a dead terrorist 😭 Heartbreaking 😭

What a hilarious thing to lie about. It’s probably the thing he said the most in 2016 after “build the wall”.

looking at the crosstabs, Biden winning NYC by only 24 points is unfathomable.

Which just shows that polling in New York is cooked right now

Probably, but New York is the most unique locality in the United States. There’s really nothing like the patchwork of ethnic enclaves in Brooklyn and Queens elsewhere. Swings in those places could have no bearing on the rest of the country. Right now it’s mostly mirroring Biden’s decline with non-Whites, just accentuated. Siena and Emerson are both relatively high quality but Siena especially has been finding acute weakness with non-Whites in its partnership with NYT.

The thing is, the NY polls are showing a weakness with White voters too that basically no other poll is showing. That's why I'm particularly suspect. So Biden is holding up with white voters virtually everywhere in the country - but not New York? Seems odd
I mean we saw NY swing hard right in 2022, while swing states held, this has also been evident in other elections since then so it’s not off the cards that New York goes to Biden by schemer margins while he holds steady in the swing states. This is also being driven mostly by NYC
The white vote in NY/NJ is weird. It trended left in 2000, trended well to the right in 2004 and 2008, trended left in 2012 except Manhattan, trended right in 2016 except Manhattan, and was a mixed bag in 2020 (maybe left while non-whites trended right, cancelling it out).

I think Garvey is also clearly favored here even if Trump isn’t, and that’s good for Kim.

Eh, you might be right about Biden winning it by high single digits, ofc, but I think Kim will still eke out a win one way or another. I don't see her losing until the next blue wave.
