"2002 was a long time ago" is something I'll keep in mind whenever Hillary Clinton and the Iraq War get brought up by my forum friends.

Doesn't LaRaza want the Southwest to leave the union and form the Republic of Aztlan or something like that?

That's a conservative talk radio conspiracy theory. Much of poor minority advocacy group = NAZIS is conservative talk radio conspiracy theory.

"My enemies must be just as racist as me" is a common line of thinking among racists.

That'd be hilarious if Boehner lost his Speakership because of Scalise.

Will the Republicans finally purge the "Boehner-Scalise wing" of their party?

Boehner and McCarthy say they fully support Scalise.

This is a bad move by Boehner. If they just demoted him, this scandal would be gone in a week. Now, it's a scandal involving "John Boehner's Right Hand Man Who He Fully Supports Scalise."  People who hate Boehner on the left and right will not let this go now until Boehner goes down.

It's his Benghazi.

So 2015 is going to be  a Republican Civil War in Congress while Obama executive orders his way back into popularity with his base. Congratulations President-elect Clinton.

The Trent Lott scandal wasn't used by the right wing of the GOP to coup their own party leadership.

Bush Jr famously and openly spoke at racist Bob Jones University and Republicans elected him President. This is the sort of thing that pisses off the left but Republicans don't give an Inks about. I don't know why anybody would be surprised. Republican politicians are not allowed to express outright support for racism but America has little problem with Republicans welcoming racist groups into their party. It's hardly a secret...

What makes this different is that the far right is out to get Boehner and so there might be lasting power here now.
