ANALYSIS

Another round of victories for John Mabus, and further disappointment for Alex Bernstein, who refused to tire in his bid to boost ahead.

Mabus's effort in Hawaii was fairly lightweight, producing only two speeches (both were excellent though), and no ads or organization.  His work in Utah and Idaho was a little more substantial, although his paltry eight hours campaigning in each of these states hardly made any difference.  Mabus's speeches have improved, both in terms of content and delivery.  It's hard to criticize particular aspects, but he generally seems to be on the right track.

Alex Bernstein replicated his efforts in the last few primaries, but still fell short substantially.  His investment in a decent organization in Hawaii helped him reach within eight points of victory there, but the lack of any ads was possibly the only thing left that he could have done to sneak a victory.  Bernstein would do well to spend his remaining resources very shrewdly and not too thinly distributed if he's to win any of the impending Super Tuesday primary states.

Al Widdershins and Alcon Nighthawk again chose not to participate in this stage, but Widdershins still managed to score some delegates in all three states based solely on his accrued momentum.

ANALYSIS

Another set of results, and another step towards victory for John Mabus, who won all ten primaries contested tonight.  He now has an almost insurmountable lead, and it'd take some kind of major event for his opponents to overtake him now.

Mabus won each state by convincing margins, from 9 points in Ohio to 27 points in Georgia.  These victories come with the surprising fact that he didn't actually appear or campaign at all in any of them.  This might be the main reason why he only won overall majorities of the vote in six of the states.  The next primaries on the agenda are all Southern, and include his own Mississippi, which means that he's expected to perform very strongly again.

Alex Bernstein put in some substantial effort in a few of the states, Presumably to concentrate and conserve resources.  His speeches and ads were of the same high quality we've come to expect, and were cleverly targeted for the states in which they were given.  An overall lack of time and funds is now perhaps the key reason for his losses.  For example, pundits speculate that he could have snatched a narrow win in Ohio if he had invested in the strongest campaign organization available.

Al Widdershins only put in token appearances in most of the states, and it didn't really make much of a difference at all.  As a result, he failed to win any delegates in any of the Super Tuesday primaries except Ohio.  Alcon Nighthawk again stayed in the low single digits.

ANALYSIS

With the exit of the two remaining serious contenders from the primaries, Governor John Mabus is now set to secure the Democratic nomination.  Having won all Super Tuesday states, and now all four Southern states contested tonight, Alex Bernstein and Al Widdershins had little choice but to concede defeat and endorse the Mabus campaign.  With his only remaining candidate being the outsider Alcon Nighthawk, Mabus is all but guaranteed to win all remaining primaries, and the remaining convention delegates.
