http://www.strategicvision.biz/political/washington_poll_021506.htm

Topline numbers:

Cantwell (D) 48%
McGavick (R) 40%

This poll also includes other polling data, like...

- Gregoire and the State Legislature's job performance
- Bush's job performance in WA
- a Rossi/Gregoire (the election is 3 years away) poll
- a Roe v. Wade question (for jfern, even the Republican polling companies think of him)
- 2008 Presidential primary questions (both Rudy and Hillary lead)
- other stuff

enjoy... (esp. you Scoonie  Smiley )

First of all...Gregoire down 16 points in approval ratings while SurveyUSA shows it even?  Now those are some crazy results.

An eight-point race in Washington is pretty standard.  It may appear pretty close, but the standard mantra of "no one knows McGavick" does not really apply here.  He's had ads on, and he's a Republican, and he's running against Maria Cantwell.  It may turn out to be very Kerry vs. Bush.

Also, 70% expect a terrorist attack in the next six months and only 10% don't?  That's really odd.

800 LV vs. 600 adults... (I don't even know what a likely voter is at this point, though I assume it has to be a RV as well)

Or maybe it's just internal Republican bias at the polling firm (Scoonie's answer).

Your guess is as good as mine.  Wink

Most of that seems like garbage. Scoonie is probably right.
