I think it's pretty clear that LeBron should resign with some shred of dignity rather than stay in office after this embarrassing performance. In the end, a clear majority will call for his recall, and even if this number doesn't reach 50% or more, his governorship has been a massive failure.

Disastrous laws such as banning businesses from firing gays, along with a chaotic and bizarre governing style, while espousing views such as support of creationism and banning teaching evolution in schools are probably only the tip of the iceberg in the dysfunctional disaster that LeBron has been lately. He has refused to answer simple questions about his political views, broken promises, antagonized individuals for no reason at all, and has simply been an embarrassment for the Midwest. His awfully high opinion of himself has definitely not helped get him out of this mess either.

The red is the Southern white vote in 1964 after the Civil Rights Act.  You know this.  Everybody on this site knows this.  Those are not "New South" voters.  What you try to attribute this to is beyond my comprehension, but I don't understand what you are gaining by prioritizing that Democrats were racists in 1860 or that racists DIDN'T vote for the Republicans in the 1960s.  What's is the point?  It was all irrelevant in 1980, in 1992, in 2000, and even more so now. 

EDIT: Oh... and the 1980 results had nothing to do with Carter being unpopular.  NOTHING at all.  It was all just New Non-Racist GOP sweeping into warm weather suburbs and delivering the South to Reagan and every GOP candidate since while racist Southern whites still cling to the Democrats.  Yup.  Absolutely.
