Possibly, but they have to get through either N'arlens or the Texas nations to get anything resembling a port. Else go east. Either way it would probably be a little while, which can mean that they could get there an see it united by pirate lords or something more absurd. But you'll just have to see on that one. ;-)

Second New Union War - 298 (October-December)

October 2 - Councilor Hovoc of Ark pushed through a rule for a universal draft of all fighting capable men in the entire New Union.

October 5 - The cabal in charge of Cago is overthrown, Mayor Fosters takes over control of Cago and promises a new fight to reunite Cago and destroy the Wisconsin Alliance.

October 6 - For Hector, right across the river from Memphis is attacked by Edmunt forces. The fort does not fall.

October 7 - The First Battle of Fort Worth pits the forces of Greater Texas verses the combined might of the souther Edmunt army. The city is held but the enemy digs in near by and begins to wait for an opportunity to attack the large metro and to probe its defenses.

October 15 - A small force from Edmunt's Empire counter attacks the Colorado Republics and easily over comes the relatively primitive Colorado forces.

October 16 - Hoping to restart their progress from before and to be in a good position before winter strikes, Wisconsin forces attempt to encircle Cago in the lightly defended west and south.

October 18 - Wisconsin forces reach Gary.

October 19 - Edmunt expedition forces begin to attack New Union forts from the southern end of Ark all the way north to the Saints boarder.

October 20 - Edmunt troops begin to reinforce Wisconsin holdings in Cago territory.

October 21 - Emperor Dark Wolf III orders more attacks against Cago, hoping to connect their lines with the Wisconsin lines. However they meet more established resistance this round and so going is very slow.

October 25 - The town of Windsor in West Saints throws out the Edmunt enforcers. Over the next few days their attempts to retake the town prove futile. The town otherwise tries not to make itself stand out and thus avoids the wrath of the main Edmunt armies.

October 31 - Mayor Fosters attacks Wisconsin lines near Cago, pushing their escapements further from the city.

November 1 - Ambassador Bob again asks the New Union to surrender. But this time suggests that surrender of everything west of the Big River might be acceptable terms. The offer is rejected.

November 4 - Resistance fighters from the American Alliance make it to Windsor, and despite the locals dislike of them, begin to make it their base of operations.

November 5 - Under cover of light snows, Mayor Fosters of Cago pushes their finally united army against Wisconsin, but not near Cago! In a quick fight, they seize most of the city state of Sheboygan. One of the founding members of the enemy alliance.

November 7 - A Wisconsin counter attack is foiled and Mayor Fosters goes about digging in for the winter. Most of the residents of Sheboygan flee to other Wisconsin cities.

November 12 - Rumors appear about the Edmunt Emperor touring the midwest.

November 13 - Edmunt's Empire attacks the Colorado Republics proper.

November 14 - Nows cover Iowa and Nebraska on north.

November 16 - Supreme Commander Hops attempts to sweep through eastern Ark and repel the enemy there in. The operation takes over a week but is deemed a total failure.

November 23 - Supreme Commander Hops returns to Fort Hector. Snow reaches as far south as Ken. Keeping the river ways and railroad on the far side of the river is quickly becoming top priority for the New Union.

November 26 - The New Union hears complains from Atlan about the progress of the war.

November 27 - Another attack on Central Saints is repelled. It would be the last major offensive against their city for quite some time due to the winter.

December 1 - Most fighting has ceased except in Texas where the stalemate at Dallas-Fort Worth continues and elsewhere Edmunt's Empire plays cat and mouse with the enemy.

December 10 - The Watcher of Nashville figures out the reason for the demand to surrender Ark to Edmunt's Empire. Turns out Prince Darius was promised those New Union territories should he be able to secure them. This further suggests that Prince Darius was likely leading the enemy.

December 20-22 - The Battle of Darkness: With all other fronts stalled for the winter, the only options for the enemy to continue the fight was in the south. And with the exception of sweeping through mostly empty farms, bogs, and forests, that meant an attempt to cross the Big River.

The battle began around sundown of the first day with the central Edmunt Army, the one which had attacked Central Saints the previous month, making an assault on Fort Hector. In the battle Supreme Commander Hops is killed and by the second days completion the fort had fallen. But when word came that the fort had fallen, the artillery on the far side of the river began a relentless barrage against the entire bank. The enemy then attempted to cross the river to attack Memphis, and even tried to ford at the fallen bridges of old. But a fleet of boats, used formerly to carry goods up and down the river, was waiting for them. Near the end of the third day Edmunt's army seemed to give up and flee in total disorder. Fort Hector, or what was left of it, was abandoned. It was yet unknown what caused the enemy to collapse so completely but many praised the American Alliance forces for the victory.

December 25 - Second Battle of Fort Worth is a similar route for the anti-Edmunt forces. However instead of total retreat they returned to their fortifications outside the city.

December 26 - A new Supreme Commander is chosen by the New Union council, Marrn Ozrow, a veteran of the Battle of Darkness who had received high praise for his leadership skills on the river.

December 31 - Ambassador Bob congratulates the New Union and the American Alliance for their work in the recent battle. Ambassador Bob then claimed that Prince Darius would soon seize the throne of Edmunt's Empire. The High King of the Empire had fallen while attempting to attack Memphis.
