RIP massive HPs, but cooking to death inside the helicopter would have been a horrible way to go had it lasted for very long, so I hope they at least died quickly.

It's good for Biden that there are strong candidates for Senate in many of the swing states that he needs to win, since there's not much ticket splitting anymore.

With midnight end of session deadline the Democrats just forced through a mega omnibus bill and Republicans are absolutely losing their sh**t. This is Taiwan sh**t. Never seen anything like it.

This is what the opposition is most hoping for:

Then I hit the campaign trail, alongside a group of 20 media colleagues with whom I have covered 32 Indian national and state elections over the past 25 years. This time we tracked the campaign from the east coast to the west, traversing the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra. And as is often the case, the conventional wisdom did not survive the road reality test. Nowhere on this 2,000km, eight-day route did we hear the sounds of a wave.

We heard no backlash against the prime minister either. Just a return to an India before Modi mania, focused on local issues and leaders — with events in New Delhi an afterthought. The urban middle-class stir with pride at Modi’s base case for a third term — that a roaring economy is raising India’s global stature. But many rural voters do not.

Can’t imagine that Iran is looking forward to holding elections in 50-odd days, assuming the constitutional order is followed, a little over a year after the rebellions.

Not that any legitimate or even halfway decent reformists will be allowed to run in all likelihood.

I am hearing that as his helicopter tailspinned over the mountains of Arasbaran, President Raisi received the light of Islam and unhesitatingly recited the Shahāda. Even now he looks down on the Ummah from the gardens of Jannah. Truly there is no god but Allah, Mohammad is his prophet and Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq his rightfully chosen successor!

If he's still alive, better.

But his pick for VP if he does die would have a huge sympathy vote I don't think Harris will necessarily get, just because Bernie would be an icon.

2022 would probably have ended up more lop-sided rather than tit-for-tat.
