What a clown. Go start your own party and allow everybody to vote. Democratic primaries should be for Democrats.
Yeah, if you want to have a voice in the Democratic presidential nominating process, whether you're black, white, or purple, register as a Democrat. If that's not edgy enough for you, well, that's your choice, but don't expect the party to accomodate that.

Freedom Fighters!

Don't let this elderly con man take the Democratic Party to his idiotic supporters' level.

Making Democratic primaries open is such a stupid idea. Yes, let's let the Republicans and Independents who don't care for Democrats enough to register as one pick the nominee.

That sounds like a good way to get a Donald Trump type of candidate.

His suggestions are almost entirely based on what he thinks cost him the primary. The primaries across the south were entirely open, yet he still lost big, so open primaries didn't benefit him too much. In the closed primaries that he lost his main problem was that he lost self-identified Democrats by large percentages. One has to perform well with Democrats in order to win a Democratic primary.

Republicans can only wish they had a system with superdelegates this year.
The best solution I've read is to keep them but their right to vote in the convention will be activated only if no candidate has achieved a majority of pledged delegates.

The solution is to keep elected officials as super delegates (since that seems to be the CBC's main beef anyway) and get rid of all the other random ones who are rando party functionaries. That way, all the delegates will still be "elected" in some fashion.

Sanders' desire for open primaries is an extremely thinly veiled attempt to disenfranchise black voters. Black voters overwhelmingly register as Democrats. Their are virtually no blacks registered as independents. They would be by far the group to lose the most influence in the process should open primaries become uniform. Who would would have guessed the CBC would be opposed to this?

Except nobody is actually taking away their right to vote so...

No, just making it worth less.
No, just giving other people an equal chance for their voice to be heard.

Who prevents them? They just have to fill a form and register as Democrats.

Which in states like New York requires a switch 6 months in advance.

And which in the other 49 states is much easier. Enough with using New York as if it's the norm.

Because the Democratic Party has been such a failure for the last 30 years that most of its natural constituents hate it and don't actually want to be affiliated with it. That's why we need to allow independents to vote.

haha okay there buddy

Yeah, strange.  Sanders loses the black vote soundly then proposes letting whites flood into the party primary.  CBC opposes him.  All very strange.

Can't wait till he proposes there should only be caucuses.

^ This. I think the only people left in the Democratic party are people who are actively alienating people from the party, or "change the system from within" types.

Before you comment on my avatar, yes I am the latter.

Corrupt politicians want to keep a system that gives them more power than millions of voters.

Gasp. Maybe that's why people don't like to register; because the schmucks representing them only care about $$$$ and power.

You know, that reminds me of the guy who found that his wife cheated on him and to punish her he cut off his genitals.
