It's almost like Democrats get higher approval ratings when Americans are forced to remember how insane and awful the Republican Party has become.

46-48, Obama in Florida. No need for a new map.

Gallup has him at 51/44

I wonder why it has been going up lately?

Obama being out of the news cycle due to the chaos within the GOP because of Trump and especially trump making the GOP look bad amongst the Public. Has made him popular out of convenience since he looks like the sane person with this mess going on.

He's on positive approval on RCP for the first time since June 2013 today.

I expect more pundit analysis about how Obama's approval rating dooms Democrats in 2016. Wink

Gallup has President Obama's job approval ratings at 50% (on par with Reagan), the highest since May 2013.  Also, more than 9 in 10 Democrats love the guy, and most Americans now view his final year in office as favorably as they did Reagan's.

So Bush had an approval rating in the twenties his final year. Obama is hovering at or slightly above 50 percent.

Says a lot!

It also helps that Hillary is around to absorb all the sludge now. The opposite dynamic was in play during 2013-2014.

He's still massively disappointing but assuming Bernie doesn't get the nomination, he'll certainly be the best President in the 1981-2020 period, if not longer.

I'm thinking the White House stays blue and the Senate goes blue should his approval rating be above 50% come election time.

All credibility is lost when stuff like this is said.
