You know what I despise? People (usually Americans) spouting political theory terms and having not one idea what they actually mean.

Well, to be fair, Socialism is an incredibly broad term that can arguably encompass anything from Keynesian capitalism to Stalinism.

That's kind of the problem... socialism as a thing, has a pretty clear definition. There are plenty of variants, such as democratic socialism and the more extreme variations.
