There's still issues, but I like this treaty. Yea and it forces all EU countries to abide by a charter of "rights" that will have european judges crafting economic and social policies forever. Seems done then, the treaty is on. I find it better than what we have now.

With all due respect, they already do. This would only apply if stuff got referred to the European Court of Human Rights. With all due respect, they already do. This would only apply if stuff got referred to the European Court of Human Rights. I'm not talking about the European Convention on Human Rights, which is very reasonable document and doesn't make any mention of positive rights. I'm talking about the "Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union", which is burdened with ridiculous "rights", such as the "right" to "A high level of environmental protection and the improvement of the quality of the environment", whatever that means. This document will have force of law when the Lisbon treaty enters into force, and its interpretation will be entirely up to European law judges, who will be free to determine what is an adequate provision of all these positive rights nonsense and force states to kowtow to them, effectively destroying the democratic process in Europe. The only "right" this aberration provides that people didn't already have is the "right" to live in a socialist state.
