This thread is for the actions you decree.

You may begin using this thread.

Any "actions" you wish to happen should be posted here. IE telling your militia what to do, building stuff, looking for stuff.

(Have our militiamen returned from Princeton? Has the BISHOP returned from Princeton?)

I, Chancellor of Bedford, hereby decree the following:

1. That the settlement at the wharf in Lot 37 shall be named "North Bedford Docks."

2. That a top quality road shall be constructed from North Bedford Docks to Mount Stewart.

3. That two ferry boats capable of carrying passengers and light cargo be constructed for use at North Bedford Docks.

4. That two militiamen, in a boat, sail westward from North Bedford Docks to scout on the City of Princeton from the sea. They are to make no attempt to dock in Princeton, and no attempt to engage Princeton's militia. This is a reconaissance mission ONLY. If they come under attack, or are challenged by Princeton's militia, they are to retreat as swiftly as possible.

Infrastructure Acts:

1.  I wish to build a school in every town, to be run by a newly created Education Commission.  The local government will approve all budget decisions.

2.  Building manufacturing plants within the cities of Alberton and O'Reilly in order to expand jobs using the large populations in those areas.

3.  The creation of one cargo boat at the Foxley River Wharf, in addition to two fishing boats.

1 - Done, will be noted so on the map

2 - Same

3 - This will cost 16£

4 - They are on their way - see the news for the results.

1 - Each town already has a small schoolhouse that also serves as a residence. Larger towns have their own schooling buildings. To build unique school houses in each town would cost 3€ or 200£

Do you plan on paying the teachers?

2 - A large mill will cost 2€ or 100£ to construct each

3 - They want to confirm that the government wishes to own fishing boats (citizens already own dozens). One cargo boat will cost 15£

I give my authorization to spend £16 on two ferry boats, capable of carrying passengers and light cargo, for use at North Bedford Docks.

I'll nix the schoolhouse idea.  But I will form an Education Commission that will oversee expenses and materials for each of these schoolhouses - I don't want one schoolhouse to get some crappy supplies while another one gets top notch.  Both of them should have top notch.

I will build one large mill in O'Reilly (using the 100 pound option pl0x)

The citizens may use their own fishing boats.  I want to announce Open Development for the local fishing industry in order to create a stable crop for our economy.  But yes, that one cargo boat will also be built.

UPDATE:  I will also be leaving with the Halifax and Egmont Militia divisions for Princeton, in order to ascertain what is going on in that city.

I'd like to have a militia formed at Lot 18 and equipt and ready to invade Princeton Parish if I so command. The militia will have five of St. David's horses at their disposal.

1. The Provost awaits the report of his surveyors concerning wharf construction in Cavendish and the possibility of constructing a North Coast rail line.

2. The Provost has authorized a team of engineers to analyze the risk posed to trade by the steep rail grade in Hunter River, and awaits a report of their findings.

3. The Provost offers a subsidy for farmers who wish to settle on the undeveloped lands of the Parish, and will pay half the cost of parcels of land being sold to non-parish-resident families and laborers. He will not extend the subsidy to speculators and bourgeois landlords who do not live in the parish.

4. The Provost decrees that all-season roads shall be constructed to connect Stanley Bridge to Breadalbane and to connect Cavendish to Stanley Bridge.

5. The Provost authorizes the construction of a well-equipped school house in Breadalbane.

This will be noted in my next round of updates.

4. That two militiamen, in a boat, sail westward from North Bedford Docks to scout on the City of Princeton from the sea. If they come under attack, or are challenged by Princeton's militia, they are to retreat as swiftly as possible.

They have returned. They have some startling discoveries.

First, the supposed Wharf that exists in Princeton, in fact, does not exist at all. Princeton's harbour is far too shallow to properly contain a wharf.

Secondly, there is very little in the way of farming of any development going on that could be seen.

Thirdly, one citizen was spotted near the water. They ran towards the waters edge, but, was approached by two militiamen from inside Princeton that dragged the citizen back into the town.

As for your militia, they are standing at the ready at the roadblock (as of the next update)

Yours too are at the ready.

5. The Provost authorizes the construction of a well-equipped school house in Breadalbane.

1 - a north coast rail line will be extremely expensive given the increasing cost of the higher currencies.
Cavendish can handle a wharf at regular wharf costs (noted in the info thread) if you wish to go ahead.

2 - They say there is little concern at this time, as, there is little rail traffic at this time.

3 - noted

4 - Will be noted in the next update

5 - Same

I wish the excursion to Princeton all the best.

Also, I think we should revisit my national bank idea. It'd be better for business and all consumers on the island and open up the possibility of using paper money.

They say nothing.

Some of the militiamen are starting to brandish their pitchforks and want to "start 'a stabbin"

Shall I give the order for my militia to join you Halifax?

The Provost has put a company of my militia on ready alert should reinforcements be needed in Princeton.

Bring them in.  Maybe an even bigger show may convince them to stand aside.

No violence from any soldier, and that is a personal order.

I want the guards to know we simply want to go inside the city and speak to their leader.  This is a mission of peace, the militia is just here for security.

I'm sending one in.

Give orders for my militia to join up with the Director and his militia. I'm afraid that if the spy thing fails we'll have to use force, it's not a positive, but we can't let the civilians in the town suffer because the gaurds won't stand down.

I inquire as to what is delaying the construction of the new all-season road from Mount Stewart to North Bedford Docks. I also wish to seek an audience with the Reeve of Charlotte, or barring that, the Deputy Senator, to inquire about the possibility of direct ferry service from Cornwall to Rosebank.
