It doesn't matter, though; Obama wins the state easily regardless.

I am a bit surprised by Romney's performance in this poll, as I understood him to be persona non gratta in Massachusetts following his stint as Governor. It doesn't matter, though; Obama wins the state easily regardless. I thought he was hated (well, he is, but not to the degree I thought). Perhaps it is an outlier, but with the other numbers seem accurate. I assumed that he would be only slightly above the other three. Definitely different from results in other states. But then this is both Romney's home state and a solidly Democratic state, so that shouldn't come as a surprise. So perhaps the Republican base in Massachusetts doesn't dislike him as much as people think. Of course with the rest of the Republican field being either Fundamentalist Tea Party types, or very dull, Romney is probably going to become the Northeast favorite son candidate in the primaries. He *is* unpopular in MA, but markedly more popular than most other national Republicans, it seems. About 50% of MA hates Romney, about 40% thinks he walks on water, and about 10% have forgotten he was governor.
