I'm guessing, by the racial breakdown, that Mejia is the Hispanic candidate, Hancock is the black candidate, and Romer is the white candidate?

Is Chris Romer related to Roy Romer (former Colorado governor)?

He's Roy Romer's son. He's in the State Senate.

Is there any Republicans in the race?

You guessed correctly.

Romer's support is actually quite balanced.

A little research suggests that Carol Boigon may be a closet Republican. The rest appear to be Democrats.

Edit: Boigon dropped out and endorsed Hancock, so the answer is now no.

Primary is today:

Looks like Romer will make it to the runoff, while Hancock has a slight lead over Mejia for the second slot.

That site doesn't seem to give % reporting. Annoying.

I believe turnout was expected to be about 100,000 votes. Most of the votes were reported immediately, thanks to Colorado's heavy emphasis on vote-by-mail now.

Romer and Hancock are going to the runoff; Romer won 28.7%, Hancock 27.0%, and Mejia 25.7%.

Romer and Hancock are going to the runoff; Romer won 28.7%, Hancock 27.0%, and Mejia 25.7%.

Predictions? Which way is Mejia's (presumably heavily Hispanic) vote share likely to go?

I can't say I've followed this race closely enough; from what little I know, I'd say Romer would be a slight favorite in the runoff.

Romer is the favorite in this runoff, though Hancock still could win. Neighborhoods all pretty much voted for one mayoral candidate 100%. Driving through Denver 20 houses would be Hancock and nothing else then 5 minutes later 30 houses of Mejia yard signs.

The poll referenced in the initial post suggests that hispanics tend to prefer Romer to Hancock. Whether that includes Mejia-supporting hispanics remains to be seen, of course.

Strange how evenly-distributed the support is for the two candidates (except for black voters).

They're both very much Democrats.

Roemer being more "Republican" in support is kind of a useless figure, Hancock is black, so obviously the black vote goes overwhelmingly to him skewing the Democratic figures in his favor. In 2001 RT Rybak probably seemed to be the more "Republican" candidate for the same reason, his opponent was the black incumbent, who was very unpopular and received not much more than the black vote. Hancock is obviously getting a lot more than just the black vote though.

The runoff is today. Thanks to Colorado's vote-by-mail system, we'll probably know who won within minutes, unless it ends up being really close.

However, Hancock said in the debate he supported creationism to be taught in schools along with evolution. Doesn' make him a republican, but less ultra liberal.

LOL for Romer. He had Meji's endorsement and blew everything by running a fully negative campaign, his staff quit at the end. A beautiful landslide for the better candidate.

DENVER -- Prior to the mayoral election, Denver Mayor-elect Michael Hancock repeatedly asked Denver police if he or his vehicle was captured on video or in photographs at locations of an escort service authorities had under surveillance, records obtained Thursday by CALL7 Investigators showed.

Hancock's attorney, Bruce James, requested June 3 that the police give him any evidence of Hancock at the escort service at 1675 Fillmore St., and on June 6 he asked that if any information is found about Hancock at other locations for the escort service that it be withheld from media, citing Hancock's privacy.

Well, this doesn't sound good (http://www.coloradopols.com/diary/15859/breaking-key-facts-in-hancock-prostitution-scandal-corroborated) for Hancock.
