Title: PPP: 50% oppose Walker recall
Post by: AUH2O Libertarian on August 16, 2011, 12:54:15 PM
http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2011/08/sentiment-moving-against-walker-recall.html

Quote
50% of Wisconsin voters generally oppose a recall of Walker, compared to 47% in favor. Those numbers are flipped from our last statewide poll, in May, which found 50% generally in support of a recall and 47% in opposition. The overall switch comes because independents have moved from slightly in favor of removing Walker from office (50/47) to slightly opposed (46/50) and because 94% of Republicans now oppose recalling Walker, up from 89% on the last poll.

Approval rating is 44/53.

It'll be close, especially with Feingold.

Why would half oppose a recall if Walker's approval is 44/53?  Do they oppose recalls, in general?

Because I am sure plenty of people are getting tired for both sides abusing recalls like this.

I think PPP had Snyder in a similar situation. Voters dislike him, but they don't want to go so far as to actually recall him.

Why can't Wisconsin shut up and hold normal elections like the rest of the country? All these recalls, dems running away to Illinois, Wisconsin has proved itself to be the biggest political joke in the nation.

Unless he murdered someone or bribed the SOS to win the election or something, this is just childish. There's plenty of elected officials out in the country with negative approvals, and then they lose re-election, if they win it's the public's own da** fault for not caring to vote.

If Feingold ran and campaigned for a recall, that might lower that number enough to pass it through.

I'd prefer to have Russ back in the Senate, personally.

There is no recall question, so the only numbers that matter are the match ups. Walker is not over 50% in any of the match ups, that's not a good sign for him at all.

Maybe. But the numbers will also tell us about voter enthusiasm (if there is a recall election). So more people opposing the recall means less people will show up to vote, probably.

You think he could race across the Atlantic against Santo...aww, screw it. We always end up arguing about him.
