F - If MItt loses the nomination it will be because of a demonstrated lack of ability to connect with voters despite massive advantages in fundraising and organization.  (Santorum would be a good choice for Mitt's running mate so as to hopefully nail down the base, tho not the best one in my opinion.)

C. A good approach but probably almost too liberal...and doesn't really get him into any new places....

Though, to be honest, Santorum's a Northeastern Nationalist. The way to be balance him out would be a neoliberal or a neocon from the West or South (though almost anyone in the south is just a generic R or a Nationalist) ...or a straight-up moderate from the midwest(like that still exists, though)....that being said-

Mitch Daniels...granted he's really a generic righty, he has said some moderate things and maybe he can make a Santorum strategy of just talking it up with typical 2005 Ford Taurus driving blond hair 42 year olds who make $39,000 a year as assistant managers or tech support guys at call centers or small ramp factories in Michigan or Ohio....these guys and gals probably voted for Obama in desperation but probably think "he's a nice guy and he's tried hard, but I'm just not that comfortable with the things he says or does...and besides, my boss is sick of him. In fact, Jim just started smoking again with how he's going to deal the Health Care thing. I didn't like that bill, but I think we'll give it a shot...My aunt Norma's not doing to well and is only in her 50's".
