I actually like those three types of posts, so I think we ought to keep the board up and running through Inauguration Day 2013 when we need to start turning our attention to the 2014 mid-terms and the 2016 Presidential Election.

What was wrong with the old Ore Mine (https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=126827.0) you created?

Still, these were my favorite entries:

Salads can be very good and don't take as long to cook. They're also usually a little bit cheaper. However, you lose a lot of man points if it's all you eat. OK as a side, but not as the main course.

It wasn't a sweater, it was a teeshirt, one I probably shouldn't have gotten in the first place. Someone else is probably fully enjoying that shirt right now, so I have no regrets donating it, as otherwise it would have sat in my closet forever.

Santorum's wife is called Bella ?

My latin is a bit rusty, but doesn't "bella santorum" mean "wars of saints" ? ;D

Daughter, and I'm pretty sure "Bella" as a name is "beautiful," not "wars."

Edit: (Not that I'd be surprised if Ricky actually wanted to name his daughter "wars").

bellum, i, n means "war". "bella" as the feminine of "beautiful" is italian and doesn't have latin roots AFAIK.

14.4% unemployment amongst blacks under Obama, yet they remain blindly loyal to the Democrats, who take them for granted.

They should be welcoming Romney with open arms as a President who can improve their lot in life, not booing him.

And Democrats can continue to take blacks for granted, because they are the most monolithic voting block in America no matter what.

Yes, voters love to be called blindly loyal and stupid. That's a great way to get them on your side!

My friend, obviously you take great pleasure in embellishing and falsifying the statements of others, as you are the one who used the word stupid, not I.

Yes, but your post insinuated about as much. We can throw out "stupid" if you'd like and simply replace it with "condescending."

You forgot the part where he attacked the only other Senator from the Labor Party as being a right winger. And my personal favorite, the bloodthirsty hounds comment, which he could have got away with but apparently didn't realize that while you can get away with being an ass to some people some times, you can't get away with being an ass to everyone all the time.

Came here to post that. The last part is gold.

To be fair, it's rather sad on my part that I forgot the bloodthirsty hounds comment (given that I had it as my username for the better part of a month).

Yeah, some of us have to try. Not everybody is a natural like you.
Do you always make statements you can't back up?  It's like you think it's cool to be a contrarian to facts and reality OR you just like making snide pointless comments.
Although, tbf, it is Landslide Lyndon.

This board is slowly but surely turning into a DailyKos-esque Romney bash forum. It would be more practical and less annoying to have one thread titled "Romney is an idiot. Here is why he is an idiot today." Then, rather than 50 threads a day on why he is an idiot, you guys could bash away on the one thread and leave the rest for reasonable discussion of the election.

I know what you're saying, half the threads in the 2012 is unbearable to read anymore.

Is Obama sleeping   This has been the worst presidency I've ever seen (admittedly I can't remember the Carter years) on foreign policy.  He seems uninterested in being Commander in Chief.

Are you Rush Limbaugh?

No, he's just the biggest troll on the forum.

The 2012 board has reached the point where >50% of the discussion consists in a troll calling another troll a troll, the aforementioned troll's response to the other troll's comment, etc.

This reminds me of a Family Guy quote when the Griffins are playing a civil rights board game that Cleveland brought over and Peter gets a card that reads "for whistling at a white woman, go directly to jail" and Peter says "does anyone win at this game?" and Cleveland says "you don't win, you just do a little better each time."

You'd have to replace "better" with "worse" for this quote to make sense, though.

If BO acknowledged his own record and showed that he grasped what was going on and how he effected it, than outlined an actual path/plan foreword he would have a case to be president, however he hasn't done that.  So, here we are.  LOL.

Mondale84 and pbrower2a. Nobody can touch these two (although Bandit is pretty bad whenever I see stuff from him, too). Pbrower2a ought to win this in a landslide if only because he's more serious. He's so bad that he makes me cringe sometimes. At least mondale84 is probably just some immature kid who will grow up someday (there is no other explanation for choosing to include Walter Mondale in his handle); pbrower2a is practically one of those old guard communists, the types that one thought the Democratic Party had kicked out back in the '50s during RFK's anti-communist crusade.

Run only if you have something to say that you think will make a difference, know it cold, and you are doing this to give it more press. If you do it well, you will gain respect in your community. That's a grand step in anyone's life. But it needs to be about beef, not ego.

Exactly.  Also, if you don't have time to really devote yourself to the cause, don't do it.  There's no point to investing time into a write-in campaign unless you're going to go all out to promote your cause.  In that case, it's just a waste of your time that you could spend doing on something meaningful.
