The really ironic thing is that New Jersey was the least corrupt. The top 4 least corrupt were all solid blue states.

The articel says, "Earlier this week, the Center for Public Integrity released a report detailing the risk of corruption and lack of accountability in all 50 states."  So I don't think it's actually looking at corruption, just potential for corruption, whatever that means.

It's not really a measure of corruption, it's a measure of how tough a state's anti-corruption laws are and how strictly they're enforced. Georgia is the worst because everyone in our legislature happily recieves truckloads of money from lobbyists and nobody will never do anything to limit those funds.

Well, as pointed out this wasn't the actual most corrupt state list. Which Louisiana should probably be at the top of.

Indeed, aren't some of those states considered to be among the least corrupt?

It makes sense, that if they don't have a corruption problem, or atleast not in the last several decades, that their anti-corruption laws would be inferior and outdated.

The subject line should be changed.

Yes, the subject line is inaccurate, as was half the reporting about this.  These represent the most corruptible states.

If Illinois and Texas aren't on that list, then it's fake.

The second I saw the thread title, I knew Georgia would be first. Just look what happened when Karen Handel tried to become Governor.
