I said neutral. Before the 2012 campaign, I respected Ron Paul a lot more. He seemed like someone that didn't suck up to the establishment and did his own thing. This campaign though, he played the role of Romney's attack dog, taking down the flavor of the month at the time and never attacking Mitt. It just seemed like he became more of a "politician" this time around, which lowered my opinion of him.

I strongly disapprove (I/O), at least in terms of his political views. If you are asking what my opinion of Ron Paul is as a human being, all around, I would have to say neutral for lack of familiarity.

He seems to be weirdly popular with the "ALL MEMBERS OF CONGRESS ARE CROOKS" crowd.

While I'm not a fan of the way some of his supporters conduct themselves, I generally see Paul as a very intelligent member of Congress who contributed good policy discussion to the 2012 primary race. I admire him for standing up for what he believes in, rather than bending to the party demands.

I certainly approve of him. It's a shame he won't be in Congress next year.

So are you.

Oh, and I slightly disapprove of Ron Paul. He was my 3rd choice in the GOP primaries, after Huntsman and Roemer (Johnson would be the 3rd if he hadn't decided to become a Libertarian).

True, but I acknowledge the fact that Romney flip-flopped/flops and that he's not the saviour of humanity.

Neutral (D).  I generally like his foreign policy and stances on domestic issues that he generally differs with modern day Republicans on (PATRIOT ACT, marijuana legalization, etc.), but I don't want him as president.

Strongly disapprove. The fact he is one of the least horrible people in his party tells more things about the GOP than about him.

I voted for the crazy old man. Best of the bunch and still awful.

Strongly Approve. He's far from perfect, but I like that he at least argues for a need to end, or at least curb our foreign adventures. We need more voices like him in the GOP.

That said, his campaign was hilariously amateurish.

There's literally no one I detest more in modern American politics.

That phrase doesn't capture how highly I think of the doctor, but it's all I had. :P

I wonder who will take his place as Constitutional Watchdog. Maybe Gary Johnson will return to the GOP and run for Congress?

Not only are his views reprehensible, he's a moron that many future GOP leaders will look up to as a policy wonk and economic guru. That thought is scary and makes me want to vacate the country asap.

disapprove. it is very transparent that his 'campaign' this year was just an attempt at setting up his son for a run in 2016 or 2020. this is an idiotic and insulting strategy and will not get either anywhere (as if they had a chance). it is also immensely frustrating because so many people that could be using their talents on some more 'organic' cause/movement waste their time with his non-campaign. as for his views well, i think its obvious where my disagreements lie.

This, pretty much. The man represents a step in the right direction for American political discourse, away from the current paradigm of unrestrained spending for just about anything the political class would like.

He's the second worst prominent political figure in the United States ideologically and pretty terrible methodologically, though he seems like a good man on a personal level.

Anthony Kennedy due to his effectiveness with it.
