The 2016 Democratic Primary will be between Brian Schweitzer, Martin O'Malley, Andrew Cuomo, and Mark Warner. Hillary running depends on who wins this year, so if Romney wins, Clinton will probably run because she knows she could win. It's harder to follow a two termer. I think the Democrats will probably go with Clinton or O'Malley. If Clinton doesn't run though, Cuomo would be better than O'Malley in the general. Unless we nominate someone that'd turn off indies, like Elizabeth Warren, we could take Romney down easily.

He thinks their too conservative. Cuomo is a Clinton-like "New Democrat". He is a fiscal hawk but a social liberal. Brian Schweitzer is a moderate populist Governor of a red state. Mark Warner of a Fiscal conservative and a social moderate.

Warner (maybe cuomo; Schweitzer would have name recognition issues) is perhaps the only candidate that could win (and/or would try) in 16 if Obama is re-elected

If Romney wins this year, the Democrats will turn right.  Unless it becomes clear that Obama lost because of Jill Stein or Rocky Anderson taking away too many left-wing voters.  And the odds of either of those two getting enough media attention to have a spoiler effect are dismal.

Hillary didn't want to run in 08 though, and even hints that it was Bill who goaded her into running:

Totally depends on the economy. If it's good, Romney wins against most candidates. If it's poor, almost any DEM candidate approaches Obama's 2008 margin.
