As of today, James Earl Carter has defeated Herbert Clark Hoover in the competition of "Longest Presidential Retirement".

Nah.  Hoover was fairly harmless, even beneficial once out of office.  The most harmful ex-president has to be John Tyler, the only ex-president to be a traitor to the United States and support its enemies in a time of war.

Presumably he was referring to Carter's criticisms of Israel.

Carter may not be the worst president, but he is hands down the worst of the past 50 years (or even since WWII) by any objective standard.

Well maybe Dubya was the worst. Carter was in a second.

Carter was a terrible President.  He was not suited for the job.  But his Presidency was less harmful to this country than that of Gerald Ford.
