I was debating on seeing this or Looper this weekend, I think the answer is pretty obvious now...

I somewhat enjoyed the first one, even if it was yet another lecture for the American audience on why Americans should never, ever, under any circumstances, leave the United States of Freedom for filthy foreign lands.

It actually had a French director.

All the more reason for the film's message of encouraging Americans to stay in the US.

It reminded me of Hostel in a way, which Eli Roth admitted was partly a satire on American ignorance of the world outside.

Joe, you should really do yourself, and America, a favor and take Politico off ignore. He'll learn you quick and correct your Euro-philia.  The whole continent is a dystopian, Mad Max wasteland.

Strictly speaking, it was a French movie, produced by French film studios with a French film crew. Not a single US dollar went into the production of that thing. :P

It just had an predominantly American cast and was aimed at an international market.

I saw Looper yesterday. Pretty awesome.

So, you're telling me that a sequal to a movie that pretty much can't have a sequel without jumping the shark isn't going to be an Academy Nominee????

Looper was good... really friggin weird, but good.
