Yeah, September was an impressive month for Obama.

But now is October ...

Generally, Romney's campaign is the first to the gate with their fundraising numbers. Must have been a simply horrible September for them. This makes me think that Romney/RNC's September numbers dropped below August's ($111 million).

Presumably now that he's winning the money will flow from the wealthy again in this last month.

Isn't there a cap on how much they can donate though? I think most of them might be tapped out. Whereas Obama's small donors won't be.

There were two online donations per second on Thursday for the Romney campaign.  Those are small donors.

What's the burn rate here? I heard the Obama campaign blew a lot of money on fundraising advertisements in expensive media markets (but lucrative fundraising areas), like California and NY.

Remember 4 years ago when a candidate got 80 mil for the whole general election. Did they even do TV ads back then?

This is the biggest waste of resources since, well, Obama's "Stimulus Package."

Obama's Chicago guys scared a lot of people into believing that Romney is a monster who wants to kill seniors and babies. The debate showed that this image of Romney they created was a figment of their imagination. How many donors wish they could get a refund?

Rank-and-file Democrats are increasingly losing faith, Independents have lost their trust in Obama, and Republicans are fired up like never before.

In terms of fundraising, earlier is better, especially at this point. By late October, it'll be pointless.

98% of the donations were under $250, with the average about $53, which is definitely good. I'm glad this is not SuperPAC money.

But the Romney donors like that he will kill seniors and babies, Politico.

Yeah, conservative republicans are on fire with Mitt Romney. First debate increased the odds of close election, but suggest that now Romney is the favorite isn't true (at least, polls haven't said that yet).

Remember when Citizens United was supposed to inaugurate a new era of Republican-corporate dominance of campaign fundraising.

lol.

It's more of a problem in House and state legislature races. And I doubt the next Democratic presidential candidate will have anywhere near the personal small donor pull that Obama does (unless it's Clinton, perhaps).

It's the Democrats being bought that I'm worried about more.

Romney raised $12,000,000 over the two days after the debate.
