Title: Alternate map: 2008/2012
Post by: SetonHallPirate on October 07, 2012, 07:12:15 PM
...except it doesn't fall under the "random map", as it's with a totally redrawn map of the US States. Basically, what I've decided is that the maps of states have, for the purposes of deciding a Presidential election, outlived their purpose, and I've redrawn the maps (with the help of the Bureau of Economic Analysis) for the purpose of the electoral college.

Unfortunately, as this is my first post, I can't post the map, but if anybody else who has the required number of posts wants to post the map, please PM me, and I'll be more than happy to send it to you.

States are as-follows, in the colors listed (the major cities within those "states" are listed, with 2012 electoral votes):

Red: Boston (15), Charlotte-Greensboro-Greenville-Raleigh (21), Denver (10), Los Angeles-San Diego (38 ), Louisville-Lexington-Evansville (8 ), Milwaukee (10), New Orleans-Baton Rouge (8 ), Pittsburgh (7)
Orange: Buffalo (6), Detroit (16), Jacksonville (7), Little Rock (6), Phoenix (11), Seattle (9)
Yellow: Chicago (22), Cleveland (9), Knoxville (5), Memphis-Jackson (8 ), Miami (11), Omaha (5), San Antonio (8 ), San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose (24), Tulsa (4), Washington (16)
Green: Atlanta (17), Cincinnati-Dayton (9), Houston (13), Minneapolis-St. Paul (12), New York City (44), Oklahoma City (5), Salt Lake City (7), St. Louis (9)
Blue: Anchorage (3), Birmingham (7), Columbus (6), El Paso-Albuquerque (6), Kansas City (7), Richmond (8 ), Spokane-Billings (6)
Purple: Dallas-Fort Worth (21), Des Moines-Quad Cities (6), Honolulu (4), Indianapolis (7), Nashville (6), Philadelphia (17), Portland (8 ), Tampa-St. Petersburg-Orlando (15), Wichita (4)

For 2008, I can now call the state of Anchorage and its 3 electoral votes for John McCain.

Note: I'm doing these by real-life state...this'll take some time to do in its entirety, but Anchorage and Honolulu are easy...the states of Alaska and Hawaii, respectively. (Honolulu and its four electoral votes will go for Obama once I do Hawaii, of course)
