Considering that I'm the last one registered, it's a new registration, I haven't made any political actions, and the Midwest is a political cesspool (no offense) that makes any political action near impossible, I'd like to request a premature move to the Northeast as a do-over of sorts before I make any political decisions. Vermont if it reaches that point...

These are not boundary changes or territorial additions, merely official places of residency similar to abroad constituencies.

The Constitution, however, does say this:


Canadian provinces are not "States".  I don't think I can recognize registrations in Canada.

I suppose if a region decides to pass a law specifically refusing to recognize the votes of those in the region who decide to take residency in their provincial counterparts, that decision would be respected, yes.

It still doesn't appear legal for Homely to recognize this registration.

Please, by all means, file suit. It's not as if literally anyone expected you not to.

No one could sue (I don't think) unless the RG or SoFE was enforcing it.

It should be noted, at least, that I have contacted the regional executives asking them to consider requesting their legislatures grant a simple notice of consent to the new territories granted unto them, just to be extra super secure about the whole deal.

I can't speak for other regions but in the Northeast that would require passing a constitutional amendment.

Is there usually a centralized thread for campaigning for regional legislatures, or is the norm to create a thread for one's own campaign?

Why is AtlasiaWiki giving me problems? When I go to log in, it sends me to the log in screen on the fora, and then to the forum index.

You'll want to start your own campaign thread. There may be a centralized debate, though.

You'll need to PM Dave for wiki access.

You should still be able to view the Atlasia Wiki even if you do not have editing access. Which Wiki link are are clicking? The one at the very top of the page, or the one on the forum bar (() (https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/))?

The limited jurisdictional authority was just recently passed via the Atlasia-Canada Common Market Agreement. There are currently some questions surrounding the constitutionality of the provisions that allow Atlasians to live in Canada, meaning that the Department of Federal Elections has not formally recognized registrations in Canadian provinces as of yet.

If you wish to be a resident of a Canadian province in the future, though (and since this is your first registration in the game), I'd recommend registering in one of the states for now and await resolution on this matter.

SOMEBODY ADOPT NEW MEXICO! :)

As per the legislation passed a few months ago, I'm formally requesting to deregister.

While I'm aware there's restrictions on deregistering during an election, from my reading of the bill, I cannot be considered "eligible" as a candidate in the current election as I have not declared any candidacy nor made any suggestion that I would accept write-in votes. As such, I request that the Registrar General deregisters me effective immediately.

That really is a terrible law. It serves no purpose but to discourage registration drives and keep good people out of the game. I'm not pinning it on you, Fritz... I just hate that I was a part of the senate when we upheld this limitation.

The intent of the law is to prevent a candidate, or a party, from getting all of their friends and relatives to register just so they will all vote for them in one election.  Which could happenm

They could also do that a week before the election... The way I see it, if a person wants to cheat at Atlasia, nothing's going to stop them.
