Title: Political Party Buttons
Post by: WiseGuy on March 15, 2005, 01:22:45 PM
I was playing around with some ideas for buttons this morning and came up with these:

()

Note: I didn't make one for the Atlasian Conservative Party or the Republican party because of the pending merger.

You didn't make one for the Independent Liberal Party either.

Unfortunate about the glaring typo though.

Spelling "Independent" correctly might make them take to the button a bit better. :)

Oops, must've accidentally missed the 'e' :p  All fixed now.

Who's on the coin?

Yes.

Now ask me what's on the back of the coin. :D

FDR.  He's the first liberal that came to mind.  If you don't like it, I can change it.

FDR is on the front of the dime.  The reverse has a torch, an olive branch, and an oak branch.

The ILP's logo is weak.

Got any Suggestions?

I like it. But the font doesn't match. It should be something quieter, but not ugly, like TNR.

I love it. Others might not. If I weren't an independent (can you make one of those? :P), I'd definitely use one of your banners, because they're all excellent.

A coin is a poor symbol. Sadly there is no 'liberal' symbol. Peter and I had a discussion about that. Regrettable. Besides, FDR is... well FDR, and on the nickel. I prefer having forest animals on my coins.

If anyone has any suggestions on what they would like, I could try giving it a go.  I made the Freedom Party's logo (on a whim, but they liked it).

I would prefer stylized text over graphics. Something that says we like raising taxes, and murdering babies. ;)

That is funny as hell. Not sure what an actual liberal will thinking of it, but as a conservative, I think that is funny. Maybe the real Democratic Party should use that for their logo.

I agree! It certainly is the truth.

Siege40 specifically requested that text, actually. :)  I added the ghosted text to make them look extra-scary, however. ;)

i like it.  what could make it even better is if the third person plural is changed to the first person plural, namely change the 'they' to 'we', and i think you've got it made.   :)

what you're basically doing with this is that you're making fun not so much at yourself, but at them -your typical conservative Republican.  and i like the subtlety of it all.

This banner would be much more accurate if Peter Bell would just invite Irish Democrat and migrendel into his party.  :P

Accuracy is overrated. :)

Irish Dem is banned due to gross corruption.

I would actually accept migrendel even though he is totally insane because whilst I expect that most members would disagree with some of his more unique positions, he has never done anything corrupt to my knowledge.

I like the one we have.  The one that you made for us.  I move that we keep it.  It looks more majestic.
