A PUBLIC execution of a random Australian was designed to shock the community, a Sydney court has heard. 
 
Details of the alleged plot have emerged as the first man charged after this morning’s terror raids has appeared in Sydney Local Court on one charge to act in preparation/planning for terrorist attack.

Lawyers for Omarjan Azari, 22, said he would make no application for bail.

Azari is accused of conspiring with Mohammed Ali Baryalei, the most senior Australian involved in Islamic State.

Commonwealth prosecutor Michael Allnutt alleged the plan to commit the act was designed to “shock, horrify, and terrify” the community.

“I don't think I’ve seen much worse,” he said.

“It’s been an immediate reaction to a clear, imperative danger. There is still an enormous amount of material for police to assess.”

Mr Azari’s appearance follows a series of raids across Sydney and Brisbane and allegations of a plot to behead an Australian and upload the act to social media.

Belgium’s intelligence services prevented several terror attacks, which were planned by Muslim Belgians, who had returned from Syria where they supported the militants, local media reported on Saturday.

The media say radicals, who shared views of the Islamic State terrorist organisation, also planned bloody actions. All suspects were detained.

The authorities preferred not to publish the information earlier to avoid possible panic in the society. The media write up to 90 nationals of the Kingdom have returned from Syria, and every ninth was involved in preparing terror attacks similar to the firing at people near the Jewish Museum in Brussels.

As many as about 300 Belgian nationals are among radical Muslim militants fighting in Syria.

Police suspect the 18-year-old man shot dead outside the Endeavour Hills police station planned to behead officers and post the images online.

Both officers required surgery and remain in a stable condition in hospital.

NSW Police confirmed today that they were investigating the alleged attack on a member of the Australian Defence Force in full navy uniform at 6am.

It is understood punches were thrown and threats of beheading were made.
A police spokesman confirmed the 41-year-old man allegedly suffered minor bruising in the attack and reported it later by telephone to Kings Cross police.

“The two men were described as being of Middle Eastern appearance,” the spokesman said.
Defence force families have already been put on high alert after an incident in Western Sydney in which two men of Middle Eastern appearance approached the house of a serving soldier and asked if defence force personnel lived there.
They left after the wife of the soldier told them “no”.

ADF members have been advised to consider where they are going, to be aware of their surroundings, and to exercise commonsense and judgement when considering where and when to wear uniform in public.

Four suspected Islamist terrorists have been arrested in a series of raids across London, in which one 21-year-old man was tasered.

Counter terror police arrested the men - aged between 20 and 21 - and at one address were helped by armed officers but no shots were fired, Scotland Yard said.

A number of residential addresses and vehicles are being searched by specialist officers in west and central London as part of the investigation.

A Scotland Yard statement said: "These arrests and searches are part of an ongoing investigation into Islamist-related terrorism."

Police officers or soldiers were to be shot by British Isil terrorists in attack on the streets of London, it is alleged.
Four men have been charged over the alleged plot which included keeping images of two police officers, two community support officers, and the reconnaissance of a police station and Territorial Army Barracks.
The plot was allegedly to include the use of a moped and a handgun with a silencer and the men are accused of planning to follow a fatwa by a senior Isil terrorist who called for followers to kill “disbelievers” in their home countries.
The four were arrested during a series of raids across London earlier this month and are accused of swearing an “oath of allegiance” to Isil.
Tarik Hassane, 21, Suhaib Majeed, 20, Nyall Hamlett, 24, and Momem Motasim, 21, all of London, have all been charged with intending to committing acts of terrorism or assisting others to do so.

The man who allegedly struck two soldiers with his car in Quebec and was killed after a police chase had become “radicalized” and was known to federal authorities, the Prime Minister’s Office said Monday.

The 25-year-old hit-and-run suspect was shot after a police chase Monday in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, located about 50 kilometres southeast of Montreal.

Before the chase ensued, he allegedly struck two members of the Canadian Armed Forces, who were on foot in a strip mall parking lot. One of the soldiers is now in critical condition, while the other suffered minor injuries.

A suspected member of Hezbollah was arrested in Lima, the capital of Peru, earlier this week on suspicion that he was planning a terror attack in the country,

Mohammed Amadar, a Lebanese citizen, was in possession of explosives and other materials used in explosive devices when arrested, the Peruvian Interior Ministry said in a statement.

According to La Republica newspaper, the Peruvian authorities were informed by the Mossad about Amadar's arrival in Peru and his intention to carry out attacks.

The prime minister's bureau in Jerusalem declined to comment on the report.

A man who was shot outside an Islamic prayer centre in Sydney's west was targeted as he locked up the building following a night observing the holy ritual of Ashura, one of the most important holidays for Shiite Muslims, according to a community member.

Witnesses claimed that a number of people had driven past the Husainiyah Nabi Akram centre on Rosedale Avenue in Greenacre just hours before the shooting, chanting in Arabic that "ISIS [terrorist group Islamic State] is coming" and "ISIS will stay".

Rasoul Al-Musawi, a 47-year-old Iraqi Shiite religious leader at the centre, was shot in the face and shoulder as he was locking up the centre about 1.15am on Monday.

Witnesses dragged him back into the centre and gave him first aid until paramedics arrived and took him to hospital. He underwent surgery to remove the pellets on Monday.
