Updating the Flag Act of 2014

()

1. The image above shall be made the new flag of the People's Region of the Pacific. It shall replace the old flag in all functions.

2. The symbolism of the flag shall be as follows:
-The 4 lines each represent one of the major rivers in the region (starting from the upper left and working counterclockwise): The Columbia, the Sacramento, the Colorado, and the Snake.
-The yellow shall represent the deserts of the region in the Southwest
-The green represents the evergreen forests of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
-The circle in the center represents the Pacific Ocean, the namesake of the region and the source connecting the lower and upper states.
-Each star represents a state in the Pacific, as does each root on the center tree.
-The 21 leaves represent the 21 separate administrations which have ran the region
-The tree as a whole symbolizes the Pioneer history of the region.
-The stars and tree are white to symbolize the snow capped peaks of the Rockies, which form our border to the east.

I believe that it's time for the region to get a new flag, both to represent the history we've went through since the previous model was adopted, but also because modern software programs allow for increasingly complex designs to tell our regions story while still looking good.

Lets pass this! ;)

I made the previous flag when there were only 10 states. What is your excuse for not having the 11th? :P

Not bad, but the saltire seems... crooked.

Not bad, but the saltire seems... crooked.

It's called a half-saltire and was added instead of a full one because not having the saltire go to each corner looks better and is more unique.

If there's no further arguments, I move to open a vote.

I will note with great appreciation that the changes I have suggested to the design have been made by the honourable Speaker. While I would have recommended that a construction guide and exact color tones be provided in the text of this bill, I have found no reference to any sort of gubernatorial re-draft power in our Constitution, so I would advise that a future amendment be made to that effect. That being said, I hereby SIGN the Updating the Flag Act 2014 into law.

x Governor Varavour
