Title: Last round of negotiations on Iran nuclear program Post by: swl on November 21, 2014, 07:37:36 AM One year after the Geneva agreement (interim deal of November 2013), the deadline to reach a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear program is approaching.
The 10th and last round of discussions between the P5+1 (sometimes called E3+3 in Europe) group of countries and Iran started a few days ago in Vienna, and the self-imposed deadline to reach an agreement is Monday. Foreign ministers of the countries involved are all arriving today in Austria for the last days of talks. Diplomats do not seem very optimistic on the chances of reaching a comprehensive agreement by Monday. Hopefully they come to some agreement.

Almost all of the Republicans, and over half of the Democrats, including Hillary voted for it. Biden, Kerry, and Hagel all voted nay. Obama also opposed it.

The American foreign minister says that "there are still huge differences". The Austrian foreign minister says that" there's still a long way to go."
