I think I've noted my appreciation of Wasserman-Schultz before.

I don't think US news media is particularly biased against Israel.  Pacifica Radio and left-wing media is certainly biased against Israel.  And, worldwide, there is tremendous bias against Israel and maybe there's a rising tide of anti-Israel sentiment from the far left that has infected our political discourse.  But, with places like the NY Times and MSNBC, I don't really see much anti-Israel bias.  

But, I think there is a kernel of truth, in that international news and war coverage often lacks context for US viewers.  If someone just sees the Israeli military response and doesn't know what precipitated it, they view it as aggression.  A 24-hour news channel is very poorly equipped to provide that context and educate viewers on what is going on.  I think that's actually the bigger problem rather than bias of any kind.

So she laments that the media don't show the impact of rocket attacks on civilian life in Israel, in private remarks to a Jewish group? Boo hoo. I'm sure the left will try to make out like she called for eating babies but it's hilarious that this and her spending money on her wardrobe is the worst her enemies can come up with.

Reality has a well-known anti-Israel bias.

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time

CNN was particularly annoying during the latest war. I was actually pro-Israel, considering the fact that the Palestinians militants murdered three hikers, but I couldn't stand CNN jumping from frothing out the mouth for Israel to "OMG teh Gaza civilians" every ten minutes.

She's got a point when it comes to left-wing media outlets that continually downplay the cause of the flare-ups and wars, but really, this is just her playing to the choir and no real issue either way.

If it becomes a story, it kind of proves her point.

The one thing everyone can agree on is that the media is biased against them.

I am pretty sure, if the media even mentioned the causes, you would take that for the most vicious anti-Israeli propaganda :)

I'm sorry Rep. Wasserman-Schultz, none of the media is biased against Israel. All of it is biased in favor of Israel.

     Considering the extreme pro-Israel bias that has taken root in our national discourse, she is confused by merely substantial pro-Israel bias. Most people I speak to about it in real life have never even considered that the Muslims of Palestine also have a point of view. To them, Israel=good and Palestine=evil.

DNC chair ignores the fact the media tends to be biased against Democrats, and instead decides that it's biased against Israel, when it's ridiculously pro the current whackjob Israeli government. Joke DNC chair.

The baseline of our discourse right now is so skewed towards Israel that if even one outlet starts to show the POV of anyone other than conservative Israelis, they suffer from an anti-Israel bias.

It's a shame and I do hope we get balanced coverage in the future, and DWS certainly isn't helping with that.

I can't speak for American media but I can that say that Australian media has a slight anti-Israel bias.

This is just as much of a joke as what DWS said.
