Back when he had a red avatar, I'd say BushOklahoma (I suppose he was KerryOklahoma back then).

I'd say SamSpade.

No, he's been BushOklahoma since he registered, I believe.

How about Mitty?

He leans Republican most of the time.

angus.

I would agree with those choosing Angus.  I honestly could not tell which political party he belonged to if you just showed me his posts.

Gabu.  I'm not really partisan left or right, though.

Carlhayden, It honestly took me forever to figure out which party he was in
Gabu and Mitty are good choices as well

Carlhayden is another very good pick. I don't think I've ever actually heard him say anything good about his party - not that he says many good things about the other party, though.

No, CarlHayden is an ultra-partisan Republican without the avatar. He thinks that the WA Republican secretary of state stole the election for the Democrats.

Just because he doesn't have an avatar doesn't mean he isn't partisan.  I think he lives by the GOP platform, despite the fact that he claims to be a "moderately conservative Democrat."

Somebody should do a most partisan poster with a green avatar. ;)

Not at all!  I haven't really seen much bias from you, or if I have, it's been against both sides. :)

That would be a good poll.

So I'm now an ultra-partisan Democrat because I have not seen any real evidence that Washington was "stolen?"

I would say that there are a lot of people around the center, Waltermiddy, Bullmoose, Alcon, Gabu, Harry, SamSpade.

I take CARLHAYDEN at his word about being a Democrat. The rants he makes on John McCain should tell one he is not a Republican. I believe one can be a conservative and not be a Republican. The fact that he has chosen to consider himself a Democrat is perfectly okay with me. I do not recall him ever saying anything favorable about Dixiecrats like George Wallace or Strom Thurmond so the fact that he may be a tiny minority should come as no surprise to posters on this forum. BTW, there really are non-populist, conservative Democrats in the Southwest. New Mexico had one in Congress for years in the 2nd District (Muddy Runnels).

Lots of Republicans hate McCain.  In fact, I think more Republicans hate him than Democrats.  I guess he can choose to identify as a Dem, but that's not worth much if he agrees with the Republicans on every issue.

Maybe we should use the standard that they use in the House of Representatives....would he vote with the Democrats or the Republicans for to control the chamber?  If he would vote for the Republicans, he's not a Democrat in any meaningful sense.  Even Zell Miller voted Democratic for Senate control.

I think it's safe to say someone is not a Democrat when:

-they do not hold a single view that agrees with the Democratic party's platform
-they have no said a single positive thing about any Democratic politician besides Zell Miller
-when the only Republican they say negative things about is a Republican who almost every hardcore partisan Republican hates
-when they have compared prominent Democratic politicians to Pol Pot and Osama bin Laden.

If I decided to identify as a Republican from now on, would you consider me a real Republican?

CARLHAYDEN is about as much a Democrat as BRTD is a Republican.
