ND Republicans don't have primaries, they have a state convention and it was this weekend.

For state races, I believe the convention's decision can be overturned with a primary that you petition to get on (for instance, current Rep. Kevin Cramer actually lost the convention endorsement to Brian Kalk, but petitioned for a primary and won). I believe Burgum plans on challenging Stenehjem in a primary.

Not so, they have a convention but it is somewhat non-binding.

Doug Burgum (and Paul Sorum) are running in the North Dakota Primary to be the Republican nominee for governor that will be held on June 14.

I think AG Stenehjem is actually Pro-SSM, if I am right he would make the 2nd GOP Governor to be in favor of it. Which means he is likely in favor of most other LGBT rights as well I would think.
