"Democratic" and "Republican" are okay, but not super descriptive.

What would be better names for our parties that better reflect their policies?

I have some suggestions but I don't think the filter on this site will let me post such language.

Cliche as empty-quoting is, I gotta give credit where it's due.

Democrats: Disappointment Party. Lesser of the Two Evils Party.

Republicans: The Mentally Ill Party. The Uncivil Party.

Republicans: White Power Party
Democrats: We're Not the Republican Party

I actually like that they're not descriptive. It's not the "Liberal" Party of the "Conservative" Party. The Democratic and Republican Parties, at least in theory, stand for America and her ideals.

Why have two different names when one will do?

How did this meme get steam that just because the GOP went hard right the Democrats followed in that direction and stopped somewhere around the center?!  Their social moderates/conservatives met the EXACT same fate as the GOP's social moderates/liberals, and the fiscal debate within the party this primary season isn't even center left, let alone center right.

who said anything about changing? the democrats have been a centre-right party for decades.

LOL, guess it depends on your perspective.  Most people, including most Democrats, would disagree.  And it's not like your or any other European's opinion really matters; you wouldn't care what we thought of your politics, if we gave a sh|t in the first place. ;)

Are you suggesting that both parties are Slothful or that both are Diligent or that both parties seem to be both at all the worst times?

I would assume sloth is non-voters, while diligence applies to both parties.

The Libertarians are the Sloth Party.

Maybe a Liberal-Conservative divide like in Canada.

I could see a good argument for either being the Party of Sloth, so I just left it at 3 for each.

Well I guess you could include Despair (the 8th deadly sin) if you want to round them out.
