...how were you feeling?

I was feeling great having just been read the exit polls at the Kerry HQ.  Obviously, that euphoria died off a few hours later

Giddy about what the night had in store. 364 days and 12 hours ago my giddiness had been proven correct.

Pretty confident.....that pretty much faded away when I noticed

1)they couldn't make a call on Michigan and it was 11 PM

2)Kerry STILL wasn't winning Ohio

3)Florida was called before midnight

....I held to some glimmer of hope, but I was so shocked that Kerry was going to lose.  I really was angry at the country falling asleep that night.

I was taking an exam.

I was watching Kerry's stock on TradeSports soar to 72%.

A voice in my head was telling me to buy Bush stock at that time, but I didn't listen to it.  :)

I wanted to get home from my polling place to see how things were going and get a shower.

It looked like it was breaking by my predicted parameters.

According to my notes on election night, at 7:28 I was going crazy because the first precincts of Virginia were going for Kerry. Thus, at that moment I wrote "7:28 VA breaks for Kerry!"

I think my computer was being purchased, I already made one of the best decisions of my life by voting Badnarik and I was watching some tv later on to see what the results would be.  Kinda disappointed though, I was expecting a little more difference than the 2000 electoral map.  Wanted to be surprized by morning I guess...

I was still hopeful that Bush wouldn't win, but that hope was being washed away.

West Virginia was immediately called for Bush.  This was the first time that I entertained the possibility that Kerry could really lose.

I was listening to "experts" like Susan Estrich talk about how it would be almost impossible for Bush to win.

We all know what happened in the next few hours.

I was in class from 6 - 9pm.  It was a computer class so I had access to the internet.  The teacher pulled up some exit polls that had Kerry ahead by like 8 in PA, 3 in OH, and 5 in FL.  I figured it was all over.  Got home at around 10 and things were dramatically different.  Couldnt believe my eyes.

I was calling Ohio until 15 minutes before the polls closed.

Down :( ...................... but it didn't last long because it has given me the opportunity to whoop Bush's ass for the next four years

Sometimes it can be easier to criticise political opponents than it is to defend your own kind

Okay, good to hear.  You just keep doing that, and we'll just keep on winning :)

At this time, a year ago, I realized I really don't like champagne.

I was almost positive Bush would win.

I was so tired after not sleeping all of Tuesday night this was the time on Wed. I almost collapsed.........but I held on to smoke my victory cigar I because I couldnt on Tuesday Night.  Then I fell asleep, for my first good nght of sleep in about a month.
