What pisses me off is when people elevate it to the level of Christmas. It is not a religious holiday, and most blacks are Christian and already celebrate Christmas anyway. Kwanzaa is more like a long St. Patrick's Day, or something like that. Just because it's right after Christmas doesn't elevate it to the level of Christmas or even Hannukah. Hannukah is a relatively minor holiday, it just gets so much attention for being so close to Christmas. It's nothing on the level of Christmas. I celebrate Christmas. I suppose that makes me a hypocrite since I bash American Christianity the other 364 days of the year, but there are some presents I'm too cheap to buy. I wish I could say I celebrated Hannukah, but its more of a private and family holiday, its not like Passover where I get invited by my Jewish friends.
