I would either voted for Arnold or Jack Grisham, who was the lead singer for the 70s-80s punk band TSOL (True Sounds of Liberty)

Ahhnuld.  We get to replace Davis with a moderate who is rich enough not to succumb to bribes and corruption.  Yeehaw.

I met this guy from SF in India who owns a bar and, on election night, put up a sign stating that anybody who voted for Arnold would not be served.

Well, I gues he doesn't want the business of a majority of Californians.

Ah well, the majority of Californians are not in SF, right? And I don't think they kept it up for long. The way he told it it sounded like it was just for that night.

McClintock, Arnold is too socially liberal for me.  McClintock and Camejo(although I disagreed with the green guy) were the only ones laying out consistent policy.  Technically, the vote for Arnold and McClintock put together made an even bigger Rep landslide.  Arnold is a way better governor than any democrat would have been, just not as good as McClintock.

Arnold got less than 19% in SF. It wouldn't hurt him there.

and look at all the Democrats saying Arnold here, and then tell me that the fact that 64% of Californians voted for a Republican has ANY significance in Bush's chance of winning the state.

and Bustamante.

Bustamante was exactly the same as Davis - utterly corrupt.  Although he may have even been worse due to his nutty hispanic racism.

Shwartzeneger was the obvious choice.  Would love to see him as Senator one of these days.

CA Dreamer had Marey Carey's picture in his signature for a while.  I'll try to dig up a non-controversial one.

Arnold, the best thing to happen to this state in a long time. I agree with him on pretty much every issue, I'm just a tad bit to the right of him on education but other then that I tend to agree with his platform more then any other politcian I've seen.

Bustamonte would have been Davis .5 a down grade on the original...

McClintock would have been good but I'm not sure he could have won... He came off as too arrogant IMHO.

Marry Carry... Very hot.... Just shouldn't be Governor.

Arnold, clearly.  This is one of those times I wish I had an "anti-vote" just so I could vote AGAINST McClintock.

McClintock or Arnold.  McClintock seemed like a nice guy, very well organized, and very knowledgeable.  I'm also a little wary of some of the charges against Arnold, although it seems none of the harassment charges had any merit, at least yet.  I'd say Arnold seems like a pretty good Governor, but I didn't appreciate his referendum this year.

I actually agree with you. At the time I really wanted Davis to win, but the more time passes the more I feel that Schwarzenegger was and is very, very necessary to the well being of your state.

Although, California does seem to have much deeper problems than even Schwarzenegger can tackle. For example, lack of competitive elections, lack of representative government's ability to budget, lack of incentive for housing construction, lack of infrastructure, lack of organization in state government. Unless these problems are solved, California is going to have some major long term problems in the future.
