Title: Re: Jon Corzine's Religion Post by: Alcon on May 28, 2007, 08:22:24 PM Why do people think he's Jewish? He's of plain-gentile Dutch extraction, I thought?

His last name sounds Jewish, people associate it because Lautenberg is Jewish (I mean I think he is but I'm starting to doubt), and his beard and glasses. The guy looks Jewish and his name sounds like it, what more does it take? Title: Re: Jon Corzine's Religion Post by: Alcon on May 28, 2007, 08:27:38 PM Why do people think he's Jewish? Conan is the one who brought that up to me and I thought so after thinking about it. However, it was the looks that he me convinced. Title: Re: Jon Corzine's Religion Post by: Tender Branson on May 29, 2007, 12:53:20 PM Before I looked it up I thought the guy was a typical American whose ancestors came there 300 years ago and that he was either Catholic or Protestant. Corzine doesn´t sound Dutch at ALL and I know lots of Dutch people ...

Corzine doesn´t sound Dutch at ALL and I know lots of Dutch people ... Yeah, if you look at it in this way ... I´m just flooded by the Van Nistelroy, Van Bronkhorst, Seedorf, Robben, Verkerk, Kluivert, van Haestregt, Spierenburg, Westerholt, den Adel types of names, but not the americanized writing/spelling of Corzine. Actually I always pronounced it as "Car-Sin" ... :P Title: Re: Jon Corzine's Religion Post by: Tender Branson on May 29, 2007, 01:09:47 PM Actually I always pronounced it as "Car-Sin" ... :P Woops !
