What would this have been like?

Stupid and wacky.

Would have been great for 3rd-party exposure.

That said, TD is right - it would have been pretty wacky. Especially considering that all the 3rd party candidates have some positions that are pretty, uh, crazy.

It might well degenerate into a free-for-all....

Peroutka attacks Bush for not being conservative enough, Nader and Cobb attack Kerry for not being liberal enough (and do the same to each other), and Badnarik attacks everyone for not being crazy enough.

They've always had a third party debate at Cornell. This past time it was attended by Badnarik, Peroutka, Cobb, and Walt Brown (Socialist Party). I think a nice idea would be to give the exact same questions to the third-party candidates as the big two parties are given and then mix the tapes together and then show at a later date on like C-SPAN or MSNBC (I admittedly realize it would be Saturday night fare). I think that was done for John Anderson in 1980 maybe?

Anderson & Reagan, if I recall, had a debate together that Carter didn't attend, for some reason.

Reagan & Carter later had their more famous debate.

It would have to be set up in a different format, so that every candidate ends up debating the others. That said, I think Peroutka and Badnarik would be the only ones who would stand to benefit; much of the left was going for Kerry no matter what.
