I like the symmetry of Orange County, California and Piscataquis County.

Obama: metropolitan areas and rural minorites, plus New England and a part of the Midwest heavily dependent on manufacturing. And little outcrops of various types elsewhere.

McCain: the rest

Man, one county away from taking all of New England! Damn Piscataquis...

If Siskiyou County, CA and Klamath or Douglas Counties, OR voted for Obama, you could drive from Mexico to Canada without leaving Obama-country.

And yet, you can drive from the Atlantic to the Pacific without going through an Obama County :(

Just based on counties won, that map looks brutal for Dems.

Glad to see that Travis County is as blue as ever. It went over 63% for Obama, I don't think a Democrat since LBJ has won that large a percentage in Travis County.

You can drive to all of the stadiums of the NFC North (Minnesota, Green Bay, Chicago, Detroit) without leaving Obama counties.

Yeah, that was exciting. Also nice to know that we won Dallas, Harris and Bexar. All in all, a decent election for Texan Dems. One step at a time.

Let's wait for the rest of the returns from Spokane county, WA.  I think McCain will win there once it gets to 100% precincts reporting.
