I mean, it took an epic scandal and 7 guilty counts in a federal court for Stevens to barely lose. My skepticism over Alaska is that I don't think Alaskans will accept a conservative Democrat in opposition to Murk. In most of the South, I suspect that someone in Murk's situation would be toast to someone like Musgrove or Pryor or Nelson. Like, I think it might be possible that Idaho or Utah would be more willing to jettison an unpopular (read: hated but no convictions) GOP senator than Alaska... My question is what happened in these 3 weeks that resulted to this change? |
