New Jersey Survey of 500 Likely Voters, Conducted January 13, 2009, By Rasmussen Reports:

Christie - 42%
Corzine - 40%

78% of Republicans back Christie versus Corzine, who has the support of 66% of New Jersey Democrats. A plurality of unaffiliated voters prefer Christie, but 25% remain undecided.

Note from Rasmussen:

"Historically, however, New Jersey often shows Republicans competitive with Democrats until the fall when the latter pull away decisively. A Republican has not won a statewide election in the Garden State since 1997."

Favorable Ratings:

Christie: 53% favorable, 25% unfavorable
Corzine: 50% favorable, 47% unfavorable

Corzine Approval Rating:

44% Strongly/Somewhat Approve
54% Strongly/Somewhat Disapprove

Obama Approval Rating:

76% Strongly/Somewhat Approve
23% Strongly/Somewhat Disapprove

Should New Jersey legalize marijuana for medicinal use?

54% Yes
32% No

Republicans are known for leading their Dem opponents early in the campaign and then lose by a comfortable margin. It's not happening, Ronnie. Corzine's ratings are stellar, by the way, by NJ standards.

I was kidding.  It just seems that whenever I post, you seem to find some sort of loophole, which I am unable to counter. :P

     Of course, it's impossible to get excited since NJ will just vote for that contemptible piece of trash Corzine regardless of who runs against him.

We've been feeling the same about elections in New Jersey.

This thing should be different, at least in that candidates are running as a ticket this time.  That should throw in a whole different dynamic that has yet to be seen in New Jersey politics.

It's an exciting time to be following things, at least.
