I searched myself so I already know nobody cares, but I'm updating you whether you like it or not Tongue

Things have finally been falling into place after about two years of straight shet. A huge part of that has been my coming out as bi, which started here. And really, I don't think I've given enough respect to the power of this place. Being comfortable enough with you guys to speak openly about one of the many things I've struggled with coming clean about has been instrumental in my current personal happiness. I've been reeling from some hard punches recently and I feel like I've learned a lot through it all. I'm not coming back to the forum and I wanted to share that with you considering the growth in significance of the forum in my assessments of life as of late. I'm in the beginning stages of my first ever relationship with a dude and I honestly owe the courage it took to initiate something like that to those of you who have been so supportive over the many years. It's a strange and exciting new step towards the honest life I hope to lead. I'm working hard at my career in sports and hope to finally work up the balls to start writing again after my ill-conceived blog stalled out. Changes abound and awash in progress I thought I'd at least pay respect to the social sphere that has been instrumental in my struggles and triumphs. I hope to keep in touch and will definitely still be on Facebook so get at me if you want. Most of the people I'm in some sort of contact with already know me, so look through them if you'd like. My life teardown has set up a rocky road I'm enjoying tripping down and I hope some of you remain a part of that.

Considering my relative success with this particular attempt at weaning myself off my unemployed lifestyle, I'll be leaving the forum in most capacities for the foreseeable future. A number of factors are at play and many of you that remember my previous extended absence will remember that I make no pledges or commitments and fully expect to back at some point or another. Most of the rest probably have no idea who I am and don't care, but I wanted to let you guys know rather than leave you out in the cold. Things are finally back on the right track in life and I'm very much an all or nothing kind of person so the things that lead to almost no impact on most peoples' lives are the things I'm aiming to replace with more productive focuses. I'm learning how to skate better, drink less, study football more deeply, spend far less time on the computer or in front of the TV, refuse to yield in my distaste for cell phones, remove processed goods from my life, and generally strive towards what I want in life. Not to get too ridiculous with it, but I'm really looking forward to bettering my life again. A huge part of moving to Philly was my surrenduring my own convictions for the sake of taking in as much as possible, only to have them erode so rapidly that what I knew was wrong still seeped into my realm of consideration. So now I'm more than ready to swing the all or nothing pendulum back to 'all' because people are idiots and I'm sick of taking the false losses for the sake of learning something. I have certainly learned a lot here and most of what I'm saying has far, far less to do with the forum than my life apart from it, but the tides of positives and negatives have changed again and so must I. I'm hoping to dig my blog out of the dark corner it's collecting dust in, so I'll keep you updated there should you be so inclined to keep yourself in the loop. So...cool, see ya when I see ya, doods

86 seems a touch low for being two blocks from one of the best streets in the country for wandering and eating.

You can get some really nice stitched fake jerseys for like 30 bucks online.

Haha oh man, I feel bad for the Great Lakes area...that's just sad.
You want a hot summer? April was fairly cool here. F'ing awesome!

A hot summer in Philadelphia is slightly less oppressive than one in Memphis, I imagine. Still, absolutely. I love the heat.
8  Forum Community / Forum Community / Re: do you own any 'gear' of your favorite sports team(s)? on: May 02, 2013, 06:17:25 pm
Good God...most of what I wear is Eagles clothing. I own like 10 jerseys and 10 T-shirts plus a couple sweatshirts. I think all of two jerseys are players still on the team...Vick (Eagles and Falcons), McCoy, Asomugha, Dawkins, White, Stewart, Samuel. I also have an Eddie Royal Broncos jersey and a Ray Rice Ravens jersey. Also an Iverson one Smiley

My career is sports though, so I'm not your run of the mill fan. I'm already looking out for who I might want someday out of Chip's crop. I really, really like Poyer and Johnson for potential jerseys in a couple years.

Great town
10  Forum Community / Forum Community / Re: How long did you lurk before joining the Atlas Forum? on: May 02, 2013, 04:58:11 pm
Never did. I joined the Atlas to research the 1972 election and went onto the forum...and it's been downhill ever since Tongue

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the NFC East race as always. It's gonna be a great fight once again. I'm tabbing the Redskins and Eagles to duke it out in the end this year. The exact opposite wouldn't surprise me one bit though.
15  General Politics / Individual Politics / Re: Opinion of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Performance in New York on: April 28, 2013, 04:15:24 pm
There are two vastly different, diametrically opposed viewpoints I hold on Bloomberg. My overall opinion ends up in a frustrating middle ground between satisfaction with his effectiveness in a relatively progressive direction and infinite irritation with overreaching PR stunts alternated with complete ignorance of vital issues.
16  Forum Community / Forum Community / Re: Describe Preceding Poster's Ideology in a Few Sentences on: April 28, 2013, 04:10:05 pm
A few sentences? Seems to be working well. Tongue

Torie is a bit hard to read beyond his broad positioning as an increasingly lonely Republican rationalist. His progressive attitudes mask some of the issues on which he leans back into his roots. He never leans so far to be categorized as being off-balance though, which is an important ideological distinction.

Ugh...missed again, of course. For Jerry I'll bless him with an equally in-depth analysis:
A moderate republican.

I don't know that I've needed to. I don't care for the celebrité surrounding murderers in this country.

I'm cutting myself off from the news from Sunday to Sunday. It's all another episode in my series of multifaceted attempts to better my existence. So this place is obviously off limits. Cell phone abandonment coming soon pending the success of this venture.

I don't think there's a hex on USC QBs that prevents them from succeeding.

Maybe not. Those are two QBs whose game I see in Barkley. It just so happens they all went to USC.

The Eagles know how to develop QBs and there's a ton of upside with Barkley...with no risk at all.

Well it was Reid that was great at developing QBs. I'm not sure how Chip will do in that department given there's nothing to compare there and Pat Shurmur is pretty awful, besides that one season with Bradford (which may have been more Bradford than Shurmur).

For the record, I like Chip Kelly and what the Eagles are doing. I just don't see a lot of reason to be excited for Barkley.

Shurmur was a big part of McNabb's career with the Eagles and was most likely brought on for QB purposes. And even if he isn't that great, who cares? But if he's as good as everyone thought he could be a year ago, the Eagles have struck gold at an incredible value. That's worth getting excited about to me. I'm rooting for Vick to start his two seasons and hand over the team to a studied Barkley. Foles is good trade bait at this point even though I really like him.

I hate breakfast, but the correct answer is IHOP if not a diner.

I've been very, very impressed with Chip's first draft until today when they blew my mind with the fantastic Barkley pick. I'm excited about the intelligence and physicality that's been heavily emphasized so far.
