hillary and trump have been too....what's the point?

Not as close as Shumer and Trump.  The point is, these guys aren't as far apart on things as rhetoric would have you believe.  Expect him to MAKE GREAT DEALS AGAIN, including with Shumer on a nominee for SCOTUS.  One that will save face for Shumer so he can bitch and moan all over TV but get the nominee through.
6  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: President Trump's First 100 Days on: Today at 01:20:11 pm
You guys do realize Shmucky Chucky and Trump are good personal friends, right?
7  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: President Trump's First 100 Days on: Today at 12:06:34 pm
Paul Ryan has invited Trump to address a joint session of Congress on February 28th.

Good.
9  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: If trump decides to go after pharma prices, is that a good or bad political move on: Today at 11:36:58 am
The real way to go after big pharma is to permit imports of cheaper drugs that do the job, and we know he's not going to permit that under his agenda.

So it's probably a good political move, because everyone thinks drugs are too expensive (and they are in many cases), but it's not going to net any measurable results.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/24/us/politics/trump-comey-fbi-director-.html

Quote
The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, told his top agents from around the country that he had been asked by President Trump to stay on the job running the federal government’s top law enforcement agency, according to people familiar with the matter.

Anyone surprised?

Why would they be?  This position is supposed to transcend the standard political appointment process.
13  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: Trump ends TPP deal. Sanders praises. on: Today at 10:34:50 am
I haven't cared about TPP in over a year, it was clearly never going to be a thing.

Exacly correct.  They say it was Obama's signature deal........well then why didn't he send it to  Congress and try and bully it through?

Trump's ending a deal that really never was a deal.

No way.  I don't agree with anything he says (almost) but I love reading his posts.

Anyway, now the Senators are explaining their votes.

16  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: What is the best way to deal with left wing violence? on: January 23, 2017, 05:03:03 pm
By the way, I wonder if the Secret Service had a chat with Madonna.  Even joking about blowing up the White House is a matter they don't find funny.
17  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: Trump pledges to cut taxes and regulation 'massively' on: January 23, 2017, 04:20:06 pm
The regulation cuts will likely save far more than a tax decrease for them, but FP's nevertheless.
18  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: What is the best way to deal with left wing violence? on: January 23, 2017, 04:05:31 pm
Please dude, stop it with your alternative facts.  Libs hold hands and sing Kumbaya, not trash limos, Starbucks, and set sh**t on fire.  Roll Eyes
19  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: President Trump's First 100 Days on: January 23, 2017, 03:43:00 pm
He's been a busy boy today.  His hand should be tired from signing all those executive orders.
20  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: Question to Trump supporters, how are you ok with this tax return thing? on: January 23, 2017, 01:43:48 pm
I think it's really simple: Trump supporters are amazingly stupid.  Not an "I don't agree with them" stupid. And not  just "not that smart" or "missing some education stupid". They have a sort of aggressive, willful stupid that is only possible with real effort. And  I think the cause is fear and cognitive dissonance.

Things are bad for a lot of people in the US. And they're also deeply challenging and uncomfortable to a lot of people, often the same people. And they're not going to get better, or go back to being the way they were without change that doesn't seem really possible right now. Including from Trump. But they've already bit on the Trump bait. Admitting that he's the pinnacle of Dunning-Kruger would be both admitting how screwed they are, both ideologically and economically, AND it would be a huge blow to their self esteem because they'd need to acknowledge just how stupid they've been. And they'd rather die or kill than do that.

You're an Atlas treasure, my libtard friend.  Smiley

McCain says he'll vote to confirm Tillerson:

https://twitter.com/ThisWeekABC/status/823179101796081665

Spineless coward. Graham genuinely surprises me. Oh well, I'll toss him on the list with McCain and that idiot Marco Rubio.

Same. I had some respect left for McCain and Graham.

That' was your first mistake, friend.  Rid yourself of that respect and you'll have a happier life.
24  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: Report: President Trump to Re-instate Mexico City Policy Sunday on: January 23, 2017, 12:23:08 pm
This policy flips every 8 years. Obama repealed it . Bush reinstated it. Clinton repealed it. This is no surprise.

But but but, TRUMP did it, you see........so this is now unprescedented.
25  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: Question to Trump supporters, how are you ok with this tax return thing? on: January 23, 2017, 12:21:59 pm
I never once clicked on or read an article that had anything to do with any President's release of their tax returns, because I couldn't care less what these riches made in private or public life,  so I really don't care if Trump releases his or not.

I don't see the harm in releasing the returns, but it's not required so it's his call.

Frankly, the fallout for this will be far less than his other doozies.
