Someone should also fill him in on the Yates and JSojourner incidents. I think he's already briefed on the BushOklahoma saga.
I heard about all 3. They were hilarious.

 Haven't heard about CaDan, though.

I vomited when I watched it, which is rare for me.

Same here.
Didn't you have a constitution party avatar earlier?
54  General Politics / Political Debate / Re: Liberalism vs. Libertarianism on: April 30, 2012, 06:39:01 pm
Neither. The 19th century was more libertarian than now, yet due to cultural decay combined with multiple long wars to justify larger and larger states we ended up with our current model of social democracy being the dominant ideological current. Be glad that it wasn't worse. After all, imagine if it had been national socialism or communism that won out in the 20th century.

Trying to implement libertarianism at this point wouldn't work. If you'd like a polity more libertarian in practice than current western nations, be prepared to favor reactionary notions such as limiting or abolishing the universal franchise.

Yeah, the thing is that "discussion" doesn't mean being subjected to social Darwinist rhetoric on health care every time the topic of discussion is even vaguely related.

It's kind of annoying that whenever the topic of UHC comes up everybody seems convinced anyone who doesn't believe in its holy splendor is a total idiot. I have no idea what you mean by "social Darwinist rhetoric." I do believe mankind evolve from an ape, but I don't remember placing emphasis on that or even noting it anywhere on the forum except here now.
He's referring to your not supporting UHC.

Singapore without the drug laws or media censorship. Structured on corporate lines of course, with me as a shareholder getting dividends. I'd hire competent people to do the actual running of it. Hell, I'd even get people from the UAE, Japan, Hong Kong, singapore, Lichtenstein and Monaco as consultants to help structure things.

I'd take millions from donors, end up voting for him and put approximately zero effort in my campaign. After all, campaigning would mean using money gained from donors on it and not stuffing it in a swiss bank account.

(1) Secular anti-democratic reactionary. I'm registered as a democrat because I'm too lazy to change my registration.
(2) RT, Al Jazeera, other online sources. Some blogs.
(3) Agnostic
(4) No, but I'd like to.

Do any of these "stick out" in terms of your political views? (i.e. a conservative Republican who reads the NYT; a liberal Democrat who owns a gun and attends church every week).

Yes. I'm non-white and not left-wing. Also, I'm non-religious and not lefty, since that also seems to be common.

Bushie should join a charismatic church, not Southern Baptist.
Yes. He should form a hipster church in Kenya.

Which of my timelines? I do post AH stuff, but it's mainly in the form of world descriptions with some maps these days and no longer timelines.

Looking at your views.... Outside of your foreign policy, your anti-tobacco stance and your being overly pro-immigration you seem relatively reasonable. If anything, you strike me as a secular law and order conservative. pity it's more neo than paleo.

Something about a realistic version of the Drakaverse. It was a while ago, I don't quite recall. Yeah, you seem to have gotten the measure of my political views quite accurately.
Realistic Draka? That was a LONG time ago that I've done anything with the draka.

If you like, I could PM you a link to where I post my stuff.

I discovered you can change the email  related to your account and got it reactivated.

Also, I noticed the "humble men" cult had finally died.
67  Forum Community / Forum Community Election Match-ups / Re: BRTD vs Tweed on: April 30, 2012, 09:41:33 am
BRTD narrowly wins the popular vote, but loses the electoral vote. So BRTD/Tweed.  Then the military takes over.
68  Election Archive / 2012 Elections / Re: Mitt Romney Says to College Students: "Just Borrow Money from your Parents" on: April 30, 2012, 09:39:08 am
Romney is tone deaf and out of touch with the 99.99% of Americans who aren't multi-millionaires. Yes, Obama is also out of touch with that same group, but  he's at least less out of touch.

It's honestly enough to make one ill at the prospect of those two being elected president.
69  Election Archive / 2012 Elections / Re: Likelihood that this will be the map on: April 29, 2012, 07:38:31 pm
If Romney's campaign is limp and the economy continues to slowly chug along without major troubles that map would be a reasonable guess. The only things I'd change would be marking most states with the 40% shade.

Of course, this raises the question: What are the likely shifts in congress with a narrow dem win?

How do the democrats lose over 30% of their approval rating just for passing an amendment to end term limits?
71  Forum Community / Forum Community Election Match-ups / Jim Webb vs James Tiberius Kirk vs Jamespol on: October 30, 2008, 01:27:17 pm
In this matchup between the down home, folksy wannabe troll, the incompetent democratic leader and the first captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise who do YOU pick? I pick James T. Kirk since he's displayed leadership skills which the other two lack.

Mexico Supreme Court orders Wal-Mart to stop paying workers in store vouchers
Joe Shaulis at 11:27 AM ET

[JURIST] The Mexican Supreme Court of Justice [official website] on Thursday ruled [press release, in Spanish] that Wal-Mart de Mexico [corporate website; JURIST news archive] may not pay employees in part with vouchers redeemable only at its stores. The court nullified the employment contract of a worker who challenged the voucher payments, finding that they violated Article 123 of the Mexican Constitution [PDF text], which guarantees the right to "dignified and socially useful work." The court likened the arrangement, which Wal-Mart called the Plan of Social Welfare, to a practice that prevailed during the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz [profile], who ruled Mexico [JURIST news archive] in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Until the practice was abolished by the current constitution in 1917, workers could be forced to buy exorbitantly priced goods at company stores. AFP has more. AP has additional coverage. From Mexico City, El Universal has local coverage.

Among other legal setbacks for Wal-Mart [JURIST news archive], four labor groups filed a complaint [JURIST report] with the Federal Election Commission last month, alleging that the retailer forced employees to attend meetings where political campaigns were discussed. Last year, a Philadelphia judge ordered Wal-Mart [JURIST report] to pay nearly $47 million in legal fees and costs resulting from a class action brought by employees who had been denied pay for work they did during breaks. A jury awarded the same plaintiffs $78 million for their off-the-clock labor, plus $62 million in damages [JURIST reports] under a Pennsylvania law that prohibits employers from withholding pay for more than 30 days. Also last year, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld the certification [JURIST report] of a class alleging that Wal-Mart had discriminated against female employees.
