Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Governor's Only Redistricting Thread

I know Jesus normally does this, but due to the fact that I leave in 2 days, I want this done ASAP. ****Florida has PR included in it - due to technical difficulties. If you do a map and want PR acually on there, take 2 away from FL****Here's my map proposal: And here's another map: Puerto Rico is part of FL - I'd do it in paint - but I'm having Photo Bucket issues.

Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Elections / Concerning Puerto Rico, Redistricting, and the Senate

My fellow Atlasians,
I would first like to apologize for making a big deal out of nothing - I am now fine with Puerto Rico being a state. My sincerest apologies to any Puerto Ricans I have offended in fighting their state's statehood.
Second, I ask Gabu to hurry up with the census and the Governors to pass the redistricting by the weekend, as I will be leaving on vacation Monday.
I ask that the Senate propose an amendment to replace the rule that 2/3 of the Governors must agree on a redistricting map to 3/5. 2/3 means that we need 4/5 - because 3/5 leaves us 6% short. 3/5 is enough for me and I believe I speak in agreement with most of the governors on this- so please propose this amendment.
Once again, my sincerest apologies on the Puerto Rican situation.
Inks.LWC Governor, Mideast Vice-Chair, AFRP

I'm not sure what the problem regarding Puerto Rico is. The census hasn't officially been conducted and this is just a preliminary thread to toss around ideas. It means nothing.
I will remember to note that, for the purposes of my map, Puerto Rico is in whatever district Florida is.
They moved to PR to make it difficult and annoy me - and I can't make a map using Dave's maps - so it inconveniences me - so I'm fighting back. Though I understand that you may not be aware, the entirety of Atlasia doesn't revolve around your convenience, you know. Tell me - why did you move to PR? Because I wanted a change, to try something new. Why would I move to a new state to make something harder for you, when in fact it doesn't make it harder at all? Well - DWPerry did it for that - and I figured that since you'er just doing this now, a day before the census - that it wasn't just a normal move.

Here's an idea; I was the only voter in Alabama - now I'm one of 2 voters in PR - along with Bacon King (who was in Georgia) just put PR in whatever district Alabama & Georgia are in.
I agree, don't make a case out of an island for godness' sake! They're the ones who moved there to make it difficult - they made the case!

Atlas Fantasy Elections / Atlas Fantasy Government / Governor Inks.LWC v. Atlasia

May it please the Honorable Supreme Court of Atlasia. I wish to file a suit against Atlasia, concerning the legality of the statehood of Puerto Rico. I charge that the Senate has never been given the power to admit states to the nation of Atlasia, thus the statehood of Puertor Rico, admitted in 2006, is an illegal state, and should have it's statehood removed.

Down - just so you and everybody knows, I found this on the wiki - invalid votes count for the census:
For the purposes of the census, any voter who casts a vote in the election that is then rendered invalid is nonetheless considered to have voted, and must be included in the census.

I believe while the total number is already finalized (based on the election) the number in each state will not be determined until tomorrow.
The census is based on the voters at the time of the election. It would make sense to me, then, for the census to also be based on where the voters lived at the time of the election. Therefore, any moves since the election will not be taken into account for the purpose of the census. Except that the http://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Miscellany_Act requires that the Census be done noon EST (1pm EDT) tomorrow. So where the people who voted in the last regular election are registered as of them is where they are for purposes of the Census. Gabu - carry on as usual - the wording is iffy - if people have a problem (DWPerry) - let it go to the courts, and hopefully by then Puerto Rico will no longer be a state. There's no chance Puerto Rico will stop being a state- DWTL's bill is unconstitutional. You cannot disenfranchise me and my fellow Puerto Ricans. I'll get an amendment passed. Redistricting will not be completed until then - I'll see to this. Huh? Redistricting starts when Gabu officially releases the census; you have no authority to change this. The governors vote to redistrict.

Come on guys, it's not like the existance of Puerto Rico makes redistricting hard enough to warrant action. This is all a non-issue.
You moved there too!!! I am willing to make Civil War over this if I have to. Why would you instigate bloodshed just to make Congressional redistricting slightly more simple? I think you should get your priorities in order, because that has to be one of the worst causes for a civil war I've ever heard of. And why, of all places, would you choose to try to include Puerto Rico with Hawaii? They're practically on opposite sides of the globe. It's like trying to prevent the bottleneck in the northeast by making Maine part of California. Because they're both islands. And I'll only go to civil war if the federal gov't doesn't back me up - that was really more of a joke than actual threat.

Eliminate it, I find it distinctly Atlasian that we have it around to make redistricting rather difficult, but this is important, and no one really lives in PR.
DWPerry moved downt there to make redistricting difficult. If we can't get rid of it legally, I'll ask the President to nuke it after a mandatory evacuation. Either that - or I'll have the Mideast's National Guard blow it up.
