1  Election Archive / 2008 Elections / Re: I never said I wouldn't gloat. on: November 07, 2008, 07:57:06 pm
I never said I wouldn't gloat.  So I wanted to take this opportunity to point out how good this feels.

The country has rejected Bush.  They have rejected the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, the tax cuts, the traditional values.  We will win the popular vote majority that no Dem has gotten since 1976.

They have given us a governing majority in the House and Senate, and soon a governing majority on the Federal Bench.  We also have gains at the state level.

They have rejected the draft scare, the medi-scare, the choice scare, and everything else the Repubs tried to trick America with.

Now, the neocons don't get to finish in Iraq (we're out by 2010 I heard tonight), end the huge mistake, and secure our place in history as the new soul of American foreign policy.  The troops will come home safe and sound, and no more of their friends will not die for nothing.

And all this feels good, but its not the best part.

The best aprt is that Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, and Michael Savage who hated Obama so much, who lied so frivolously, and went to unprecedented lengths to destroy the candidate, have failed.  They hate Obama, and the fact that they will have to stumble about for the next four years knowing that America has rejected George Bush not out of naivety or ignorance but with full knowledge of who and what he is and believes will crush their spirit.  They will never beat Barack Obama.  They had their shot, and he will now be able to go around for the rest of his life strutting his Chicago strut and he gets immortal bragging rights.  They will never get to beat him.  Ever.  That's the best part.

I don't know if I could have withstood the Coulters and the Hannitys getting the bragging rights.  McCain would have been a piss poor President, but it would have only been one term.  The real kick in the nads would have been Hannity and his like winning and getting to rub our noses in it forever.  Now, they will never get to do that.

God bless the American people, they certainly deserve it tonight.

I love you.

About a tie, as because I felt the debate was a waste of time.  Palin's just a retard, IMO.

I was a pretty good kid growing up, so I was never subjected to anything, other than empty threats of spanking or soap in mouth.  (The latter of which I actually got once.)  So I went with none of the above.
9  Election Archive / 2008 Elections / Re: Post debate: How would you rate the election at this point? on: September 27, 2008, 12:08:31 am
McCain only mentioned his admiration for Reagan and Nixon about five times each.  And that he wasn't "Miss Congeniality" about five times as well.  And his mispronunciation of Ahmadinejad will  likely be in every political blooper reel until the end of time.

I agree that both gave pretty lame answers on the economy though.

But I'm going with "Lean Toward Obama."
