Federal Constitutional Amendment: Recall Amendment

Quote
Recall Amendment

1.All elected Federal offices except Class B Senate seats  are subject to revocation. Once 1/2 of the term of office to which an official has been elected has elapsed, a number of voters representing at least 25 percent of the registered voters in the affected constituency may petition for the calling of a referendum to revoke that official's mandate.
2. A referendum on recall will be successful, once a clear majority (50%+ one vote) of those voting support the recall and replacement of the official. However, a referendum will only be considered valid, if the the total number of voters exceeds 50% of the total electorate. Once those conditions have been met, the official's mandate shall be deemed revoked and immediate action shall be taken to fill the vacancy as provided by law.
3. Recall elections shall begin between 0000 Eastern Standard Time on the Thursday preceding the penultimate Friday of the election month and 0001 Eastern Standard Time on the penultimate Friday itself, and shall conclude exactly 72 hours after beginning, following the certification of signatures on recall petitions by the Secretary of Federal Elections.
4. The Secretary of Federal Elections shall administer all recall elections, regardless of whether or not the official in question was elected by a ballot administered or opened by the Secretary of Federal Elections.

Former Sen. Jim Webb, a Democrat who recently launched an exploratory committee for a presidential run, announced Friday that he’s hired liberal journalist Craig Crawford to serve as his communications director.

Webb made the announcement on Twitter, where he referred to Crawford as a “journalist/liberal icon.”

Crawford ran National Journal’s Hotline, a political tipsheet, from 1997-2003. Prior to that, he was Washington bureau chief for the Orlando Sentinel, according to his online biography. After leaving The Hotline in 2003, he wrote a column for Congressional Quarterly and was a commentator for MSNBC.
