1  Election Archive / 2008 Elections / Re: Democratic Primary 2008 (Who would you vote for?) on: May 23, 2005, 05:29:46 pm
I'll pick Warner.

Those Hillary supporters that those genius pundits who know the Democratic Party so well predict are coming out in swarms! I guess a Hillary victory is imminent!

3  General Politics / Political Debate / Re: Should bible studies be compulsory at schools. on: May 04, 2005, 04:30:38 pm
On this subject, I found there was a religious type club at my school. Apparently, a student preaches for 45 minutes is is quite good at it. Anyone else have something like this at their school?
There is a Knights for Christ prayer group at my public school.

We read the first few chapters of Genesis read to us in English Class when we were studying Paradise Lost. I don't object to bibles studies if they are treated as literature. Otherwise I have a problem with teaching the bible in school

5  General Politics / Political Debate / Re: Communism vs. Islam on: March 03, 2005, 02:45:10 pm
Both are bad if you treat them like ideologies.
6  General Politics / Political Debate / Re: What do you think of this definition of liberalism? on: February 15, 2005, 05:27:06 pm
Liberal: One who views ethical scenarios by not ruling out any options.

That's how I see it.
7  General Politics / Individual Politics / Re: Was Nixon a good president? on: February 15, 2005, 05:19:20 pm
Yes. He let the Civil Rights movement progress.
8  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Election What-ifs? / Re: Democratic 2008 Presidential Quick Poll(Democrats only!) on: February 06, 2005, 12:41:42 pm
Feingold!

But I would vote for Bredensen if he was listed in the poll.
9  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Presidential Election Trends / Re: West Virginia on: February 05, 2005, 03:32:03 pm
Manchin, Bredensen and Warner could be competitive there.
10  General Politics / Individual Politics / Re: Basic Question About Christianity on: February 04, 2005, 10:24:25 pm
I've always wanted to know the differences between Methodists and Presbyterians.
11  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Presidential Election Trends / Re: Utah on: February 04, 2005, 10:19:55 pm
I think Harry Reid could put Utah in play.
12  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Presidential Election Trends / Re: Who has a better chance of winning their party's nomination? on: February 02, 2005, 06:18:25 pm
Giuliani is more ambitious, and I don't picture Bayh running. I voted Giuliani.
13  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Election What-ifs? / Re: If Gore wins Florida... on: February 01, 2005, 07:11:31 pm
Nah, they unfortunately won NH in 2000, so the map isn't perfect enough to support that claim.
14  General Politics / Individual Politics / Re: will labor unions eventually die off? on: January 30, 2005, 08:04:12 pm
I'm going to say no, because I was inspired tody by reading The New York Times Magazine article about Andy Stern and SEIU.
15  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Election What-ifs? / Re: If you could change just one presidential election..? on: January 30, 2005, 12:41:50 pm
1968. If Humphrey won the hippie revolution would have continued, and America would have gotten out of Vietnam sooner.
16  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Election What-ifs? / Re: You got to appoint the president... on: January 29, 2005, 03:40:35 pm
Probably Sununu.
17  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Election What-ifs? / Re: All living presidents running against each other... on: January 28, 2005, 07:51:33 pm
I narrowly picked Clinton/Gore over Ford/Dole, just because I feel that Ford is dying and I don't trust Dole.
18  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Election What-ifs? / Re: Battle of (losing) VP nominees who were never nominated for President? on: January 20, 2005, 07:03:21 pm
Sargent Shriver.
19  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: Howard Dean will win? on: January 18, 2005, 08:44:10 pm
I actually think this is a better job for him than President. He knows how to get out a message, and He's great at fundraising, which are the two big requirements of the job.
His whole campaign was really a referendum on the direction of the Democratic Party, and his core message of strong opposition has sunk in, especially after Nov. 2.
20  General Discussion / History / Re: The Importance of One Vote on: January 17, 2005, 05:07:14 pm
And in Connecticut, where I live, a House race was won by a margin of just two votes. Well, that's good. My vote still wouldn't have made any difference at all. ...
                                          -Norm MacDonald
21  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Superbowl on: January 16, 2005, 11:04:53 pm
I say it will be Pats v. Falcon with the Patriots winning again. That's my unbiased two-cents.
22  General Politics / Political Debate / Re: Conservatives, which of these cities would you least like to live in? on: January 16, 2005, 11:02:26 pm
You forgot Burlington Vermont. On politics and lifestyle alone that's where I would like to live.
23  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Election What-ifs? / Re: Howard Dean vs. John McCain on: January 16, 2005, 02:22:13 pm
I'd most certainly vote for Dean.

I think the results everywhere depend on whether Dean calls McCain a sell-out. If he doesn't its McCain by 14% in 2004.

In 2008 Dean would win NH. In 2004 he would not. McCain is a hero here, among most Democrats and most Republicans.
24  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / U.S. Presidential Election Results / Which President has the most votes overall? on: January 16, 2005, 01:36:05 pm
I'm too lazy to do the addition. Who is the all-time highest vote getter for President? Is it Nixon (60, 68, 72), Reagan or W. Bush?
25  Presidential Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Election What-ifs? / Re: All the past VPs never to become president on: January 14, 2005, 04:18:42 pm
I'd vote for my great ancestor Hannibal Hamlin.

Humphrey comes in second.
