General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / Re: Is the Republican Party Broken?
|

The Republican Party needs to return to its roots, the party of Lincoln, the party of Teddy Roosevelt, the party of Reagan, a big tent party, the party that champions individual liberty and equality, as in the fact the Republican Party was the party that championed the cause of the abolition of slavery, the party that champions the principle that people are better qualified to make decisions than is the government, the party that believes that it is better to teach a man to fish so he will be able to eat for a lifetime rather than a party that believes it is better to give a man a fish so he can eat for a meal.
All that garbage has been completely discredited Windfield. The truth never goes out of fashion my friend.

Republican PAC runs the following ad
Have you ever wondered why Batman took in a teenage boy to live with him?
The GOP attacking Batman for taking on an orphaned teenage boy... That would be the biggest backfire since Dole's godless ad. Winfield, I hope you're not planning to become campaign manager one day. You wouldn't do a very good job I'm afraid. Uh, excuse me my friend, but an adult man who likes to wear tights, capes, and masks, takes into his home a young, confused, lonely teenage boy who he persuades to also wear tights, capes, and masks, would be a bonanza for any attack ad group.

Anyway, I think one issue Sjoyce and I vaguely agree on is that those Imperial manners are likely coming to an end. Maybe we could indeed have an honorific Tsarina, but that'll be all.
But, Winfield, since it seems to be a major issue for you, don't you find Governor ro be too male too ? Is there not a feminine term ?
Anyway I would like to keep our originality and keep separate names for our offices, although relevant ones. Still looking.
The term Governor is widely accepted as the title of the head of government, whether male or female. So there is no conflict there. The term Emperor, however, is decidedly male, with the accepted feminine term being Empress.

Just please let everyone's vote stand. Other than people voting in other languages again, you can clearly decipher who everyone voted for. I don't think "Damn this was hard" or "both these candidates are great but I'm voting for him because" qualifies as campaigning because A: Who the hell were they campaigning for? B: How the hell does that effect anything C: I think people who say those statements are just trying to tell everyone that their vote wasn't because they don't like the other person. Now votes that say, such and such by far! Should be counted as campaigning, but not expressing your feeling that you think both candidates would be good. Who cares if a voter thinks both candidates would be good? Nobody cares. They can keep their personal opinions to themselves while in the voting booth. In the voting booth, vote for a valid candidate then get out. We need legislation restricting the voting booth to voting for a valid candidate or for a valid write in person. Time to put an end to this nonsense once and for all. A voting booth is for voting, not for your personal comments. There are plenty of other places for your personal comments. The voting booth should be restricted to, oh, I don't know, maybe VOTING! No comments, whatsoever, in any way, shape, or form, anywhere on the ballot, or your vote will be invalidated.

This is ridiculous.
No comments, anywhere on the ballot, should be permitted.
Some voters try to be cute by writing in something in the write in for a candidate section.
[3] Such a tough choice for me. Both would make excellent Senators.
WHO CARES?
Save Your comments for another thread.
We don't care what a tough choice this was for you.
What is it that some of you don't understand?
A VOTING BOOTH IS FOR VOTING.
As far as I'm concerned, any comments made anywhere in the voting thread should result in the disqualification of their vote.
Cast a vote for a candidate then get out of the voting booth!
Is that so hard to understand?

What?
Kalwejt aligning himself with yet another joke movement?
Please. Tell me it isn't so.
I weep for this nation, weep I tell you.
It was April the 1st, Winfield True, but did you not notice my sarcastic, almost comical tone? I'm sorry. Your sarcastic, almost comical tone was to awesome I was unable to come up with anything witty. That is completely understandable.

Please, this is Atlas Fantasy Elections. It has no bearing on the real world. I will point out, however, now that you brought it up, that 61,000,000 others supported the Romney campaign as well.
Ah yes, that reminds me. If elected Emperor, I shall attempt to enact legislation declaring our Official Breakfast biscuits & cheesy grits. Oh I see, a piece of ridiculous legislation to go along with the ridiculous titles in the IDS. Makes sense.
