Executive Action

Fulfilling a campaign pledge, I'm proud to announce the creation of the "Welcoming Committee". This committee will be responsible for welcoming new members to the game, as well as showing them the rules of the game, and as Purple State once suggested, mentoring them. A more definite set of guidelines will be put in place once we have member for this committee. Which brings me to paragraph two....

I'm looking for a member of each party (JCP, RPP, UDL, POP) to volunteer to serve on this committee. Dallasfan and I will also participate in the committee. Anyone who is interested in serving on this committee please contact me ASAP.

Thank you,
President Tmthforu94

Jumps into the debate...

The best part of this game are the elections. That being said, the elections for the Northeast Assembly are extremely predictable.

Jake, I know you think 5 is a small number, but in the last election, there were only  5 or so candidates. When's the last time the Northeast has had more candidates actually running than there were seats for? I don't think there ever has been.

At this point, the only arguement I could see for having such a large Assembly is so that as many people as possible can be involved. If that's what the majority of you want, then why don't you just give everyone in the Northeast the power to vote in the Assembly and do away with the elections?

And today, my birthday, Dallas and I have sworn in as your new President/Vice President. Smiley Still unsure whether to create a new thread similar to how Fritz did, so I'll post things here for now.

I think you should have public office on this board, simply for better communication.
I know, I'm just not sure whether to create a new thread or not for it.

11590  Election Archive / 2012 Elections / Re: The Economist ranks the Republican field. on: March 03, 2011, 11:21:24 pm
If Herman Cain had the experience as a Governor or Senator, I think he could make a serious run for the Republican nomination. But his lack of experience in public office would certainly hinder him. As a primary voter, that lack of experience is why I won't support him in the primary (though I would in the general).

Senator Jeff Bingaman releases a radio ad, which will be airing in all leadoff states as well as much of the southwest.

Bingaman: America is at a crossroads. Our economy is in shambles, families are struggling to get by, and it seems, to many, as if we have lost our way.

After four years of failed policies and politics that have focused on dividing our nation rather than bringing it together, America is ready for a change.

America needs real leadership that will grow our economy, get Americans back to work and ensure that the American Dream is an attainable reality once again.

I realize that we need real help for the middle class and no matter how much Barack Obama wants to stretch the truth, my pledge is and always has been that I'll cut taxes on middle class families.

I realize that we need to create jobs here at home, so I pledge to end tax incentives that encourage businesses to send jobs overseas and I'll create incentives that creates new and good paying jobs here at home.

I realize that we can't fix all of our problems overnight, but I pledge to work day in and day out to propose solutions for those problems so that the American family can thrive once again.

My name is Jeff Bingaman and I want your support because I know, this election, we can usher in a new American renewal.

While campaigning in Duluth, Minnesota, Senator Bingaman slams President Obama for his lack of activity...

In the past few weeks, we haven't heard a peep from the President. We need a transparent leader who will keep the American people updated and aware of what's going on. Throughout my time in the US Senate, I've been committed to keeping my constituents informed, and I will continue to do that as your next President.

- Senator Jeff Bingaman
11593  Other Elections - Analysis and Discussion / Congressional Elections / Re: Indiana GOP lines up behind Lugar's primary challenger on: March 02, 2011, 11:28:54 pm
Yes Obama won Indiana. However he only won 7 or so counties. All in either the first or seventh districts. The first being Gary. The seventh bring Indy.  Indiana will not be in the Obama column in 2012.
We are not the prototypical Obama state. We are the most conservative of the states he won.  Also recognize the Tea Party is strong here.

Lugar is simply not conservative enough.
He also won Vigo and Monroe for sure, possibly a couple others. That brings the 8th and 9th in as well.

When I try to respond to a post, after inserting a quote long enough to require scrolling, the scroll bar keeps jumping up to the top after I type each letter. This started yesterday afternoon.
This occasionally happens to me, though only when using Internet Explorer. It eventually will go away.

Senator Jeff Bingaman makes an announcement in New Mexico that he will not be seeking reelection to the United States Senate, and focus solely on running for President...

I've enjoyed my time in the Senate, but I believe it's now time for someone else to step in and fill my shoes. I humbly thank the people of New Mexico for electing me to the Senate multiple times, and I look forward to continueing serving New Mexico and this nation as President of the United States.

I hereby appoint Badger as Game Moderator.

Will you be seeking legislation to add another GM or two to help Badger?
Reform will be made regarding the GM, SoEA, and SoIA positions very quickly into the term.
